Hello! My family and I are looking to visit Aulani for the first time later this year but are struggling with the tales we’ve read that the sofa beds in the DVC units are uncomfortable. Has anyone had any experience having a mattress topper delivered to the hotel? Or are there any tips to be offered for how to make the sofa bed livable for a week’s worth of sleep? Thank you!!

What age and size of person will be sleeping on them?

The Aulani pull-outs are dense foam on a solid base and much more comfortable than most of the wire-and-spring sofa beds at other hotels. They're perfectly fine for children or smaller adults.

They're absolutely "livable" for even larger adults.

I agree with the above poster, the pull outs are different than at the sofa beds we've experienced at WDW. It was a denser memory foam type mattress that was in 3 foldable sections. Because it's foam, keep in mind that while you won't get poked in the back with a bar or rogue spring, it isn't a plush surface like the other bed. If you know like a softer surface, Walmart carries mattress pads and will deliver to the resort. You will have to meet them in the lobby, like with grocery delivery.

For what it's worth, I heard no complaints from my crew while there!

We booked a larger room to avoid having my mom sleep on the sofa bed, to me that is the right call. When it’s just my 10 year old that needs the sofa bed no big deal. He slept just fine on it and didn't complain.

That mattress topper will go in the trash as soon as you leave . 😒
