DVC sneak preview for Soarin'?

Thanks BUNCHES, idratherbeinwdw!!! No child swap necessary for us, we can ride as a family.

Reading about the CA version of this ride sounds GREAT to me! Of course, I grew up there. And we skiied Tahoe over Christmas this year....

Mmmmm, wonder if I can sneak a trip in during opening weekend.

What no one has mentioned so far is that Soarin' is a GENTLE ride. VERY GENTLE. There is no rocking, swinging, or bumping. It is NOT a thrill ride and it makes everyone happy--you can tell by the way people swing their feet back and forth when they're on it (and you can see this when you're sitting in one of the lower rows).

There is a single-rider line for Soarin' at California Adventure, so unless they've changed the number of seats in each row, I would say it's likely they're going to have a single-rider line in Epcot as well.

The merchandise for Soarin' at California Adventure has always been pretty poor. The shop in DCA is not located as you exit the ride, but in a separate building across the walkway. A few pins, cups, t-shirts, etc. Nothing cool.
Considering the tons of merchandise they did for Mission space, there's a pretty good chance we'll see lots of great merchandise for Soarin' at Epcot.

Soarin' is a spectacular ride, one of the best thing Imagineering has EVER done, and it's going to bring a lot of people into Future World.

Okay, I read that the AP sneak peak will be April 15th - 17th. Of course I am going to be there April 22nd - May 1st and the official opening day is May 5th. So I will be in between the Sneak Peak and the opening. Any chance they will let people ride it in between the two?

Where did you read this info? Will it also include DVC members?

I can't wait to ride on it too. I'm scared of heights but am determined to try it.

Our son's fiancee worked on it so that gives me an extra incentive to get over my phobia.

How ironic (you'll understand what I mean when you ride it).

Intercot is reporting it http://www.intercot.com/ I haven't received my Mickey Monitor yet so I can't confirm it. I also haven't heard any thing about DVC preview yet, but the dates were the same for both DVC and AP for the Stitch preview.

ok. That sounds pretty hopeful for DVC'rs. Thanks!

Do they expect to have FP setup for Soarin' when it opens up on the 5th? We will be there that week (BWV), and I was thinking of rushing in at opening and getting FP tickets for it before the crowds are nuts.

Also, where is it going to be located?

Yes, it will have FastPass.

It is located in The Land pavilion (between The Living Seas and Imagination.)

If the AP preview is mid-April, I'm sure Soarin will be operating well in advance of May 5th.

Got our Mickey Monitor yesterday and it does list AP previews for Soarin' as April 15-17. Says to bring your AP.

Does anyone know when they advertised the Stitch AP preview if they also said DVC or did they just say AP owners and people just assumed DVC as well? I am dying to find out if us DVC'rs can go in on that weekend. I wish there was someone I could call and find out...I know that MS will just say what they read off of the computer screen. Is there someone out there that really knows for a fact that DVCr's are included in this?

jillpie.... there was a seperate announcement from DVC that there would be an AP preview for stitch. It was also on the DVC website.

OK, we're getting closer to answering my original question... Thanks for all of your input! But now I have a couple of sidebar questions.

If I am DVC but don't have an AP, will I have a sneak preview? I'm not sure that one's been answered yet.

If DH has an AP is he the ONLY member of the family who gets to sneak preview? We're actually going to be there that week-end, so now I'm seriously excited about this possiblity.

Depends on whether the preview is extended to DVC as well. As Terry S mentioned, DVC made a separate announcement to its members for the Stitch preview.

If the preview is AP holders only (which I think is doubtful), each individual would have to present a valid AP.

Don't you all think if DVC has made an announcement about an AP preview it is beacause the preview will be only for AP holders? If it were to include DVC members, I'd sure be announcing that if I were in DVC shoes.

I think this is an enticement for more DVCers to purchase APs and for that matter to do it for everyone in the family.

BCV23..... to my knowledge, DVC has not made the announcement. This announcement was made in the Mickey Monitor which is the AP newsletter.

Well, duh....I misread the post about the Stitch preview! My bad....

Thanks Terry. So when the DVC announced that on their website, did they just say for AP'rs only, or did they say for DVC members (Stitch preview) also? Sorry for another question.

Is anyone planning to enter the contest for tickets to the Press Event for Soarin' on May 4? The contest is open to AP holders.

we will be in wdw in mid-may. i have been hoping soarin' will be open then. sounds like they better have those fastpass terminals ready!! :earboy2:
