DVC Show Airing Tomorrow (9/13)!

:confused3

mine shows paid programming on both channels. :(

Mine SHOWS the Disney show on Travel right now, so I hit record and it turns out it's for some product for kids to learn..even though the guide says it's Disney Storybook vacation..hate it when it does this. Anyway..I searched and it said it was on at 4:30 (MT) on the 15th on DISC (Discovery?)so I set it to record..we'll see if it really shows :confused3

My "Paid Programming" at 7AM on TVLAND WAS the DVC show. I had set my dvr to record 6:30am & 7AM just in case even though it said paid program and sure enough.

I hope others were able to benefit.

While the families were great, I was hoping to see MORE of the villas and resorts, so I was a bit disappointed.

FWIW, here are the listings of the future airings on DirecTV:

Future airings:
Tuesday, September 14 1:07 AM CDT 380 CBSe
Tuesday, September 14 1:07 AM CDT 390 CBSeHD
Wednesday, September 15 4:30 AM CDT 328 TV1
Wednesday, September 15 5:30 AM CDT 278 DSCHD
Thursday, September 16 3:00 AM CDT 280 TLCHD

I recorded the show and just watched it. It was similar to one of the vacation planning videos hat you can receive from Disney. It showcased 3-4 different families and was entertaining though not very in depth. Most DVC owners will find it lacking in depth of information.

We have Comcast and the title was listed as "Paid Programming," but it was the DVC program.

While we could hear the program, we couldn't watch much of it (had to get ready for work and the kids ready for school). I kept popping back to check out who the families were.

It was nice to see new families and to see a new production. :thumbsup2 Hopefully it will air at a more reasonable hour next time so we can actually see more of it.

Great-I recorded it, now can't wait to see it. I need a DVC fix!

Yup, happened to me too. But it sounds like we didn't miss much.

This is a Disney Vacation Club promotional program has begun airing on numerous television networks.

The DVC program is airing during "paid programming" blocks on various cable & satellite systems and across a number of different networks. Entitled Disney Storybook Vacations, the broacast is essentially an infomerical for the Disney Vacation Club.

Due to the manner in which these programs are scheduled, broadcast channels, dates and times will vary across different cable and satellite providers. Check your local listings for information.

I found this website which will tell when and where it will air. Click on the link. To find YOUR local listings, on the right, under where it says "Welcome to LocateTV SignIn|SignUp" click on the Listings for: (blue link) and change it to your location and provider.

Thats what struck me. Normally I would never DVR a "paid program", I only did it after reading here this AM. The description said absolutely nothing about Disney. It had no verbiage at all. I think if it had a description of Disney they may have reached the demo they were looking for. I'm glad we don't pay for this. I don't know too many people that watch paid programming intentionally.

Hello....I also posted this on another thread, but.......

I dvr'd the program...it was on the normal cable station and also in HD. I recorded both since we're having problems with our HD service. Went to play them today and the HD channel had the "'brain math infomercial". Went to the recording of the other station and Disney Storybook was located. Thought this was odd, but may be the case in some of your local area.
Hope this helps.

Oh...they really seem to be stressing offsite vacations here. I'd much rather use points onsite :thumbsup2

That's what I thought, also. I was very disappointed that they didn't show the DVC resorts at WDW (except a few of them, just in passing), nor did they even mention the ones at Vero, HHI, or DL. From watching that, I never knew VWL, BCV, SSR, or OKW existed. I saw a guy juggling on the Boardwalk-that was the closest I got to knowing there just might be some DVC connection with Boardwalk. And a couple times I saw people sitting on a porch I recognized as the Treehouse Villas. Otherwise, nada!

OP here - I am happy that the information helped some of you. I am sorry that it created confusion and disappointment for others. :sad1: I didn't realize there could be so many variances by different cable providers.

I still haven't watched it - we Tivo-ed it this morning, but DH isn't home from work yet, and I don't know how happy he'd be if I watched it without him.
Yes, thanks so much. BTW, it was nice to see someone else from Texas:wave2:

Hi to you as well! My sister and brother-in-law actually lived in Edinburg up until a few weeks ago. I've seen you post about Harlingen, and I know that is down there!!! They just got transferred to Arkansas, so they are no longer there. Hope you aren't as hot and humid as we are right now (although I doubt it).

Couldn't find it on travel channel...saw the listing on tv land but it was to late....any other times or dates?
Est on cox cable

thx in advance

Hello everyone,
The show is actually testing the market at this point. They may change it somewhat when it is ready for prime time. It was shown various times throughout the past week. Because it is a paid commercial, it was on during cheaper time periods (early hours). Sometimes paid programs get bumped by the stations after being shown in their guide book. It may show up as paid program on your guides. Or you can search Disney Storybook Vacations for other time periods. These are the last two dates and times for eastern standard time that are showing on my tv guide.

Saturday, Sept 18
CNBC - 8AM

Sunday, Sept 19
ABC Family - 5AM

My family was the last family filmed in the show. I believe they were trying to reach the DVC market through the "emotional" side of buying by providing testimonials from real members, not actors. We bought site unseen just trusting in the Disney name. Once the viewers call, they will get all the other information on the other DVC villas and will recieve the Dream book and DVD. They are currently selling Bay Lake Tower, so that is what they featured with my family. Unfortunately, the show was too short to show all the other wonderful villas. They also wanted to showcase the other travel options available through DVC. Obviously we aren't real actors, but I'm pleased with how it turned out. DVC was very pleased with the results. I'm sorry some of you didn't enjoythe contents of the show. Of course the kids are my grandchildren, so I'm a little biased!
