DVC scam or real?

We crunched our numbers too and quickly realized that our DVC contract will pay for itself in 3 years. We have been visiting Disney for years and typically visit about 6 times a year. We always stayed at the Deluxe resorts so each vacation was costing $2500-$3500 a stay. We use our points wisely by reserving Studio rooms and avoiding weekend stays most of the time.

The math I did was to take the inital price, and add 50 years of annual dues, with some increase, divide that by the points, and you get how much you are really paying per point. Comes up to about$7 per point, so multiply that by how many points it takes to stay someplace particular, and that's how much you are paying. So to go a week at a non Disney resort, say Colorado would be $1120 for the week, or $160 a night. I think thats pretty good deal for a one bedroom No Scam here

Actually, we decided to go with the DVC, because it was a better deal than Wyndham, ($15,000 for 105,000 points, which might of gotten us 5 nights peak season) and there is never any pressure from DVC, because it sells itself.
I feel more safe investing in Disney

We did the same thing and used a formula to calculate how much we would be paying for the life of our DVC contract. We also came up with $7 a point. Since a Studio is 8-12 points a night, that translates into about $70 a night to stay in a Deluxe resort. You can't stay at the Value resorts at that rate! Just imagine what the rates will be for rooms in the next 20 to 30 years. DVC makes great sense.
