My wife and I were looking at a trip to Hersheypark in August. We live about three hours from the park. The original plan was to head to Hershey Friday afternoon, take advantage of late admission (using the next day's ticket), stay Friday night and enjoy a full day at Hersheypark Saturday. We would head back home Sunday morning.
Well, I got to thinking. We already have unactivated APs (for November 2009 and July 2010) and a few points (33) left in this UY. How much would it cost us to head down to WDW for two nights (sans kids)?
Here's the breakdown:
Hersheypark
2 Nights at Holiday Inn Express: $254
Parking (2 Days): $20
Park Tickets: $82
Meals: $95
Total: $451
Walt Disney World
2 Round Trip Flights (BWI-MCO): $278
Studio @ SSR: $0 (24 points)
Parking @ BWI: $24
Park Tickets: $0
Meals: $120 (QS DDP)
Total: $422
I know it's only $29, but, come on, what a different experience! The drive to BWI is only about 30 minutes longer than the one to Hershey.
We were able to get a flight that arrives at MCO by 10:30 a.m., so we'll have a nice, full day on arrival. MK has EMH until 1:00 a.m. or so that day. Our departure is at 6:30 p.m., so we'll have about six hours to spend at the parks Tuesday before heading off on DME.
Woo hoo! WDW here we come!
Now I just have to figure out who is going to take care of the kids and dogs... It's just a small detail!
