Forgive me if this has been reported, but when is the move of the DVC sales offices scheduled to go from Boardwalk to SSR? Or has it already moved?

I'm sure we'll want to stop by during our July trip and view the SSR models...just trying to see when the move is (was) scheduled.

We were there last week and they were still using them but I overheard a guide tell someone in 2 weeks they were moving.

We just came home today from the Boardwalk and the sales center is still on the Boardwalk.

Hi,
Our guide told us last Sunday that they would be moving in 13 days so I guess that will be the May 15th.

Mick.

:smooth:

What wxtra rooms will be at the BW after it goes? Studios? One and two bedrooms? BW views for some I guess? Also, on the first floor there can't be patios where the enterance to the model villas are since it's on the BW and would be a safety issue. Any chance for more GV's?

Hmm Room changes?
I presume that the 'model rooms' will be redecorated into the same style rooms as BWV. (They are currently decorated for SSR.) They were redecorated for VWL, BCV and now SSR. The size/layout is the same so I would presume that the redecoration is no problem. I believe that some of that corridor where the models are is currently used for offices so that may mean some physical changes are needed there.
As for the area where you enter the sales center on the BW I don't know if it would be a security problem to put rooms there, but it may be a noise problem. They could put up a 'fence' at each 'patio'.
I guess that we can start asking questions at the member updates and get some answers. ::yes::
If it works out the way it did at OKW when they closed Commodore House, then 'new' points should be available for sale as soon as they are ready with the changes in the facilities. ::yes::
Ah to dream and wonder.

Yes, the bottom floor wing where the models and offices are now located will be remodeled and redecorated into additional BWV units (on both sides of the hallway).

These units are slightly higher than the actual boardwalk at Disney's Boardwalk resorts. (That's why you have to go up to the models.) So they should end up with balconies what will be slightly higher than the boardwalk. I would expect a small landscaping buffer between the balconies and the boardwalk.

The additional BWV points have already been sold.

They already sold the points for these additional rooms last year. I don't know how they did that since they will not be available for occupancy until later this year. It will be interesting to see what they do with the Boardwalk frontage, I wouldn't want a room there.

My guess is that some people will love those rooms. They'll enjoy having a room and balcony practically on the boardwalk.

But other people will hate them. They'll be concerned about the lack of privacy and the possible noise.

Thanks to all for your responses. Sounds like the new offices will be at SSR....one more excuse to go check out SSR during our trip this summer. :)
