DVC sales conversation

It's a little crazy that a non-member is saying they got a secret and not telling. You make me laugh:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
The new point add-on incentive sure is tempting and I have thought about it alot. The thing with the new home resort is that it's geeting harder to book rooms these days .I remeber when you could get a room below 60 days but now it has become very rare and at the 11 month window it's getting hard. You will have a edge at booking the new resort but it will cost you. I have been a member for 10 years and have 500 points and I tryed for any room last week for the week of Oct 26th thru the 31st and nothing was available.I was on the train for buying into the first dvc monorail resort for years but now Im not feeling like staying on the train with the point price that is projected for this resort.I bought at $68.00 a point at the Wilderness lodge so when im staying at the new resort next to anyone who just bought I will be laughing a little when thinking they paid 50 or 60 dollars more a point then I did.Think how funny it will be for the orignal Old Key West owners Who paid only $55.00 a point with free park passes which they no longer get.

No offense to those who love the idea of the new place. I just don't understand the frenzy over this.

Fortunately, no one needs to understand what attracts others to certain resorts in order to enjoy DVC. But I won't be queued up on the phone to purchase on that first day either!

That was $51.50 a point and free park passes until 12/31/99. I really never give it any thought other than I made a great purchase back in January 1992 and have added on three times a higher point prices. I do think the "speculation" of $130/point for BLT is crazy--DVC will most likely offer the points at a slight premium to the current price but will just revised the point charts for usage to "raise" the price.

Will the OP reconsider and disclose the "date". I can't wait!:rotfl2:

I am just reporting what was told to me. I personally believe if WDW wants to stay in the DVC business and entertainment industry during this 'down' time they'd want to bring in new customers. Of course, I'm not a business person, I'm in health care, nor am I a DVC owner yet. If they want to 'lock me out' by selling to only current owners, se la vie, and I'll keep my money.

Don't worry....they'll be plenty of units left for you.

I spoke to a DVC sales person today about potentially buying into DVC. He asked when we would be interested in buying. I told him I didn't expect him to confirm or deny anything but we stayed at CR for our July trip and I was waiting to find out what they were going to do with the nice, new, big building they were building. He told me he recommended I call back and talk with him on a certain date and also told me to stick with that date because "they expected those to move quickly". In the meantime he will send me more information to further my research. Hmmm... I don't want to post the date...greedy I guess...sorry. Cindy

You're afraid of an overnite sellout??? Not going to happen. Everyone who wants to buy will have the opportunity.

If this were to happen, I expect that DVC would immediately announce 12 new properties.....
