DVC Safari Spectacular

So will they cancel our party reservation if we cancel our hotel stay. These parties don't cater to locals who want to party then go home to their own beds.

hey I have a reservation for DVC party at AK and don't even have a DVC room. So they do cater to locals. the last one had more local DVC members there than out of state ones.

if you are DVC member that is what counts.

I got my ticket! It has been a rough morning, though. I am on the west coast and today was my first day for booking FP. So I was up at 4am to make those bookings, and then tried to get to sleep again for 90 minutes. That didn't work, so at 5am I was making birthday cards in my pjs.
Right at 6am, I got through the Disney DVC/Disney Dining, only to have their computer not loaded and ready for booking. Gal told me to try back in an hour. Well, I was dialing about 1 minute later. It took 45 minutes of continuous redials (and I mean continuous-every 15 seconds) before I got into the holding queue. At 710am, I was connected to a nice CM who got me my ticket. After that, I had to get ready for work.
I am going to be wiped out tonight, but so worth it, unless it gets canceled due to "inclement weather".

Does anyone know if they will have continuous transportation throughout the event? I have a couple small kids who might poop out before midnight and we might want to leave early. Thanks!!

I got my reservation this afternoon for 11 people! We are staying in a Grand Villa. I feel so fortunate that we already had our trip planned before we knew about this special event and it lined up right when we will be there. Sounds as if it will be fun.

Our group of 10 will be at AoA Sept 13-20. Although I am not a DVC, one of the families has DVC at Cont so please bear with any dumb questions. Friend & her DH have done AoA suite for 3 people & have also booked standard room at AoA for DD & SIL - both ressies are under friends name. I am part of family of 5 also staying in another suite at AoA (which 1 will include a fall CP) Friend sent me info about the DVC to see if we would like to do it. I said yes! I told her even if we couldn't get in for her family to do it
1) can friend get all 10 of us a ressie for 9/13? Since we are staying at same resort?
2) we have ADR at Sanaa at 5 - do we need to arrange transportation from AKLV to AK then to AoA?
3) Should she try to book online ?
Thanks

We were able to do this for the MK event. I booked 6 reservations under my name/membership and my husband booked 4 under his name/membership. Not sure about the transportation.

I called a got 6 tickets, 5 adults and 1 child for the Sept 13 party. My husband and I are DVC members, and the child is ours. We were planning on bringing my mom who is staying on property but not with us and my brother and his girlfriend who are locals (actually CMs) so obviously they are not staying with us either.

Do y'all think that we'll have a problem getting them in? Do you think they will really turn people away at the gates? Anyone have any experience with this from the MK party? I just think it's a little ridiculous to let DVC members bring guests but then say they have to be staying with you. If that's the case just say DVC members only.

Thanks for any insight y'all have on this!

This offer doesn't have a requirement that the guests be staying with you so you'll be fine. The MK party was also open to any members, even without reservations, and up to 5 guests. In order to reserve more spots than 6 then you have to be in a Villa with greater occupancy. That way they allow Members staying with larger groups to bring the entire group.

I have a one bedroom booked at BCV and when I called, I was told that as long as I had a resort reservation I could book for 11 plus myself. Without the reservation I could only book for 6.

I was able to book for 9 adults and 1 child with a one bedroom. I called back to confirm that my confirmation number was for 11 and was told yes.

I think it is open to interpretation, and what you are able to book all depends on the cast member who answers your call.

Well, think of it this way....if your 'guests' weren't staying with you, and just tried to get in on their own, without being DVC, that wouldn't work. I'm sure they won't have any issue getting in with you. But, because it is a DVC event, for those who own DVC, those who aren't staying with a DVC owner, really aren't supposed to be allowed in..if you want to get all technical about it. Otherwise, I could call my ds and his wife over in Tampa and have them go with me...if I had requested enough tickets for them! Then, if enough people did that, the park would be full of non-DVC owners. But, then, there are those DVC owners who live in the area...and who aren't on a resort reservation. Can they sign up and then bring in five of their friends? Has anyone done that? Just curious.

I called twice today and I was told they were sold out - that no reservations were being accepted. It sounded like they were making dining reservations. She tried my party of 9 then 3 parties of 3 and every other combination. NOTHING. So depressing. We extended our vacation and I thought for sure that there would still be openings. Major bummer. Anyone else experience this?

Yes - actually this happened to me Wednesday morning, right after reservations opened!
I was looking for a party of 4 on Sept 27th, and at first he told me nothing was available.
But we both knew that couldn't be true since reservations had just started.

As it turns out, he had to look for the event at specifically 9:30pm, the exact start time.
Originally he entered 9:00pm and it wouldn't come up.

Do they still have the option to press 1 to book the event and 2 for everything else? If they do, press 2 to get connected with MS (1 was going to Disney Dining).

They did for Typhoon Lagoon event on Wednesday this week. Transport was very efficient!

There is nothing that says they have to be staying with you. If you want to invite your DS and wife over then you can and should. I think you may have posted earlier you had a CM refuse to book another couple for you but that was incorrect for this particular event from what I see when reading the rules. All the rules say is up to 6 guests if you don't have a reservation onsite. More if you are onsite. They would of course need to be with you at check in.

Great! I font understand why on the party page it says room reservation required... I guess I read that as room reservation! Whew!!! I thought that seemed weird!

DINOSAUR - hey that is one of the things was hoping to do at night. can understand the other 2 - they require more cast members. but DINOSAUR - oh well will see it sometime in Sept.
