Im not sure if im reading the point chart correctly. Im looking at BC sunday-thursday in October for 12 points. at $10 a point thats $120. Is that per/night? thanks. Hope i dont sound too stupid but it just seems so much cheaper to rent than to actually stay in rooms.

Yes - a studio at the BCV in October is 12 points per night. Renting points can be a bargain, but there are some trade offs.

Renters do not get daily housekeeping services.

Be sure you understand the owner's cancellation policy. Policies vary between owners and are definitley NOT the same as Disney's. Most owners will require full payment well in advance of arrival and many will not refund your $$ if you change your mind.

You should also know that you may not be able to rent for $10/point. The BCV are very popular places to stay during EPCOT's Food & Wine festival. To ensure a room (especially a studio), you may need to rent well before the 7 month window opens. That means you need to make your renting arrangments with a BCV owner (smaller number of people who may have points to rent). Be prepared to spend $12 -$15 per point to secure your reservation (but maybe you will get lucky and be able to do it for less).

Best wishes -

only if there is availability.

so if you can give the person who are renting from several dates that you can go or several DVC resorts.

OKW and SSR are best for last minute trips - more villa and generally less points (money)

THANKS SO MUCH!!!

I just got off allearsnet and OKW looks really great. we did WL last trip and loved it and are looking into a villa next trip its cheaper to stay at OKW. It looks very nice though. thanks again!

OKW is a great place to stay. Not only less points (so less expense), but also the largest accommodations...especially if you go for a 1 or 2 bedroom.

yeah i cant believe how less expensive it is. It will be 4 adults and 2 children. (5and7) Im gessing i will need the 2 bedroom. Are the endtrances to the villas on ground level? if not are their elevators? we will have a handicapped/wheelchair child with us.

No, about 1/3 of OKW entrances are on ground level. Only 3 bldgs have elevators. If you are traveling with a wheelchair, please let the member you rent from know this, so it can be noted on your ressie.

OKW has plenty of handicapped rooms - I would definitely request one of these if you child needs the wheelchair.

You will love OKW!!!

How old is the child with a wheelchair and what "features" do you need?
If you need a roll in shower, roll under sinks or a raised seat toliet, then your only option is to request a handicapped accessible room. If you request a handicapped room, that is a guarantee and your confirmation should say "Accessible room guaranteed" or "Confirmed".

If you don't need those things, a regular 2 bedroom villa might be a better option. Make sure your confirmation request says something to the effect of "First floor for Medical Reasons." That is a request, not a guarantee, but for a studio, one or 2 bedroom, it's usually not a problem. For a GV, the only ones that are accessible without stairs are the handicapped ones - so you need to confirm a handicapped one to ensure you are not assigned one on 2nd floor.

Two bedroom villas have a whirlpool tub in the Master bath (which would be a high lift if you need to bathe a child who needs to transfer) and a bathtub in the other bathroom. The OKW villas itself is large and has plenty of room for manouvering a wheelchair. The bathrooms are large and a wheelchair will fit inside.

If you are looking at any of the other DVC villas, I would suggest a handicapped villa in any of them unless your person using a wheelchair is able to park the wheelchair and is able to walk around in the villa. We have stayed at BCV, VWL and BWV and the regular units are very tight with a wheelchair (ie, we had to move furniture around a lot to make "paths" for DD's wheelchair).
