DVC River Country

Don't need any more points but would love to see a resort at the old RC. Would definitely stay there - probably using my BCV points at 7 months.

You are correct, Kidani points were being sold earlier. Kidani/Jambo no longer matters to owners, its all AKV. But from my recollection, they were sold as different than Jambo. In late 2008 if you bought Kidani points, you could not use them on a DVC stay until June 2009 (you could book a June 09 trip in Sep 08, but could not book a Feb09 trip..), when Kidani opened. I think DVD included some SSR use-only Developer points so buyers could use something right away, but they could not use Kidani points until it was scheduled to open.

Since the question was more on multiple resorts under construction at the same time, I threw out a more simplistic answer because there was much overlapping construction.

Thanks for the clarification, it's hard to find out that information on any official documents and reading old Disboards' threads gets confusing when different information is posted. That makes sense on the Kidani points because if they were allowed to be used even at Jambo House it would have been overwhelmed with AKV owners and lots of unhappy members. BTW, BLT was the same, we could not use our BLT points for reservations until the opening date for BLT.

Further research shows Jambo and Kidani each have a different contract number too. Not sure why. Since they are the only DVC rooms that were converted from hotel rooms, I don't know if that's a standard way to identify them.

I posted this about a month ago. I have a friend whose relative has worked on the designs for rooms for a resort at RC and was recently at Disney about this design work. I was told the rooms look great. I will try to find out more info if I can. Was also told it was going to be a DVC.

We were staying in the cabins at Fort Wilderness in 2002. We LOVED the extra room and convienence of having a kitchen for quick meals. While we were there, we took a DVC tour and ended up buying our first contract presale for the BCV. I knew nothing about DVC other than they had a kitchen and extra space when we went to the sales pitch. I didn't even realize it was a timeshare!

Anyway, fast forward to today - we have 4 contracts at HHI and BCV, but would definitely buy at River Country should it come to pass. We love Ft. Wilderness for the friendly, laid back atmosphere and the choice of so many activities.
