I was just wondering if anyone has skipped the parks while staying at DVC resorts. I'm sure ppl have, but was just wondering how you liked it and what else did you do besides the parks? I was thinking my DS's 6 & 4 would love to just hang around the pool and the arcade all vacation. Miniature golf is another thing they love to do, so that could be done too. Well I'm sure they would want to throw in at least 1 day at MK. When we went to WDW 2 weeks ago there was plenty of times they said they just wanted to go back to the hotel. We stayed at All Star Sports but now if all goes well we will be staying at SSR next time, which is 100% nicer. Sent our papers back on Tuesday. :flower:

We took a no park trip when my (just turned) 2 yo was 6 months old. We stayed at VWL and hung out at the pool... took the boat to Ft Wilderness to rid ethe ponies, Hoop de doo and a couple of non prk Charater meals (Chef Mickeys and the Princess dinner at GF) Our girls had a blast (4 and 3 at the time) and didnt whine about no parks at all.

The is a World out there that isnt in the parks. DVC helps us find it.

On our last trip in Nov. we did just that. It was our first trip home to 'check OKW out' and spent 4 days there and did not set one foot in any park. We had a great time. We did spend a lot of time at DTD and checking out the other DVC resorts. With our kids grown now we can do what we want..smjj

We've done this a couple of times for short trips. We will likely not go to the parks in July this year either (though DS#2 may venture off on his own, DW and I will likely spend our vacation in the hot tub.

the swimming pool, outlet malls, gift shop at all the WDW resorts, just relaxing on your balcony....

Cape Canaveral is not far from WDW. There is plenty to do to fill the whole day. I think that will be on our itinerary during our June vacation.

DH and I just returned from a 4 night stay at SSR, no parks. Relaxed by the pool, I enjoyed a great massage(kudos to Lucia-best ever) and a pedicure(kudos to Junia) at the spa. DH did a round of golf. Walked to DTD for dinner. Walked around the Boardwalk after dnner at Cape May. True this was without kids and a great relaxing trip, but have also gone in the past with both DS when they were younger and just hung out at the pool, miniature golf, DQ, water parks. It's really a great trip! IMO.

We did this in August last year. We were at SSR for 3 nites and did not go into one park. We (me, DH & son (then10)) had a ball. We spent time at the pool, used the fitness center, spa, went to DTD, etc. Very relaxing. We would definitely do this again.
