I'm not sure if I should have posted this here, in mousecellaneous, or in a pin collecting forum. Please move if necessary!

I wanted to collect DVC resort pins for each resort we stay in, but I was disappointed to not be able to find one at BLT! Do they only sell them at the newer DVC resorts? I asked in one of the Contemporary gift shops and they said they hadn't seen any in a long time.

Check Ebay. There have been several designs over the years.
Thanks. I don’t need them that badly, it’s just that we were able to buy one in CCV so I was surprised that the Contemporary wasn’t selling one for BLT. I guess my real question was, is this an outlier or do they only sell them at the newer resorts until they run out?

Most of the DVC resort pins that I have were free from DVC either on a cruise when they give away the resort they currently are pushing, or when we attended a preview at WDW.
I did check and only have one BLT pin, so I think they were harder to come by.

Thanks for checking! We went to the DVC meeting on our cruise but they weren’t giving pins away. I’ll have to keep an eye out for them!

I also collect a pin from each resort stay and after many stays and checking the stores every time, I too had to buy my BLT from eBay - and we own at BLT!!!
I really feel that creating a pin from each resort should be a priority for Disney - Just one! And keep them in stock, please! We can't be the only ones to think they are the perfect souvenir!?
To be honest though, buying pins from eBay is a pretty painless and easy process...too easy...:lmao:

On the cruises, they tend to give the pins NOT at the first, the DVC Member presentation. I have gotten them mainly when I went to one of the later presentations, when they have more non members.

I completely agree! I didn’t realize they would be difficult to find. We bought a CCV pin during our first stay there. The last time we visited their gift shop they were selling a new CCV pin. So they’re making new ones but there isn’t one to be found for BLT??? I’ll keep an eye out and keep eBay as an option lol.

Ohhhh okay. I only went to the first one. I’ll keep that in mind for future cruises, if there aren’t other things I’d rather do during that time. Thanks!

A couple of years ago, they were selling the Monorail resort pins as a set. I got one.
That must’ve been a nice find! Now that I know there’s inconsistencies in pin availability, I might have to buy sets like that if they do something like that again. Thanks for the info!

To the best of my knowledge the resort pins are not particularly limited edition runs. Ask at the stores, I know at the General Store at OWK they keep them in a drawer.

They do do the holiday ones as a limited edition (which included HHI and VB)

I asked in the Contemporary gift shop that sold all of the DVC merch, and the cast member said he hadn’t seen BLT pins in a long time. I continued to look in the other gift shops, but the next time I’m there I’ll ask again in each one. Thanks!

Each resort has specific pins for their resort. I think the newest ones for sale came out a few years ago.

During the holidays they also have specific themed ones

I’m a pin collector and I usually just stick to the DVC pins that come out every year that I go
I started doing this too, but that was a little tricky to find as well! In HS a cast member told me it sold out fast, but I was able to find the Little Mermaid one in a Contemporary gift shop. I was a little disappointed that it didn't have the year on the pin, and the only thing that showed it was DVC was the little hanging DVC logo, but of course I bought it because... Disney lol.

I thought this was the case, but I looked in every Contemporary gift shop and couldn't find one for BLT or Contemporary! I found a random one from a different resort though. Maybe someone had returned it?

When I asked the guy in the Contemporary gift shop that had all of the DVC merchandise, he said he hadn't seen a BLT pin in a long time :confused3 I looked in different shops on different days and never found one. I'll keep looking during our next trip!

I'd like to blame you all for my AKV DVC pin purchase this afternoon :) Went ahead and got the original 2006 AKV DVC pin since i found one pretty cheap with free shipping.
:cheer2:I decided not to apologize because it's a purchase to celebrate! I think I'm going to make life harder and make it my goal to find each one we stay in on property lol :magnify:

Random side not about pin trading. For a family of 5 pin trading can cost a small fortune to get started. Ebay has lots of 25, 50, 75 , 100 pins that are extremely cheap. They are guaranteed to be authentic disney pins but you do get random lots. Paying $0.5 per pin makes pin trading not as painful.

I would be very suspicious of pins that cheap that are "guaranteed" to be authentic Disney pins. Most likely they are fakes or scrappers.

Follow Ryan Mondics of Disney Pins Blog on Instagram. He lets you know all of the pins that are going to be released. I will warn you though, it is a rabbit hole. He makes you want every pin ever released. Haha

If you read the fine print, they are not guaranteed authentic because they aren't. They are guaranteed tradeable in the parks due to the (c) Disney on the back
