Thinking of Joining THE CLUB! Just spoke with A Timeshares Broker. Has anyone had dealings with this company? If yes how were they? :earsboy:

The worst we have ever heard about a deal with one of the often mentioned brokers here, is the sellers backing out. Its not often, not at all, but it has happened a couple times.

You won't find many regrets here. Remember how important home resort is.

Remember how much better OKW is than any of the other resorts.

We bought in way before there were any resales, but I have read lots of people's experiencs, they are most often good experiences. I am sure we will get a bunch more to read shortly, along with EdT's plug for Jaki.

:D

We purchased through Jaki Apetz. She was very knowledgeable and handled everything in a very professional manner. No surprises. We bought at HH because we wanted the ability to utilize the multiple DVC WDW locations but understand that an 11 month window for HH is a must for summer stays most of the time.

There is no DVC resort that is "better" than any of the others. What is true is there an excellent group of resorts to choose as your home resort. The one you happen to be staying at the time could be considered "better" than the others for the extent of your stay. Good luck in your decision.

The only other thing is not to purchase resale for a vacation in the near future. Closing can take a little longer and you can't make reservations until you are in the system. Availability without even the seven month window may be poor (or you may be just fine).

And, although the advice on these boards is "buy where you want to stay" its probably more accurate to say "buy where you won't be disappointed if you end up staying there." If you dream of a OKW Grand Villa, VWL during the Holiday Season, or walking back to BWV after the Food and Wine Festival, home resort will be VERY important (and you see why people end up with multiple contracts at multiple homes). If your goal is a nice place to go to Disney every year and you visualize trying all the resorts anyway, you will likely be pleased with any of the onsite resorts.

First of all, WDWCRAZY32, Welcome to DIS!

I just bought my second resale from The Timeshare Store and everything were very smoothly. I am now an owner at Old Key West and Boardwalk Villas and can have arguments with myself about which is the best resort ;).

If you use the search function at the top of the page and type in "resale" you should find a wealth of information.

We purchased all three of our contracts through Shontell Crawford. When I first started looking into DVC we realized that there was only one way to go - resale. I contacted Shontell and she was/is fabulous. Walked us through all the pros/cons and answered my endless list of questions. (We're thinking of adding a fourth contract and she'll be the one we purchase from again.) She's knowledgeable, personable and very non-pressure. Here's a link to her site.

Good luck!

Thanks to all for your reaponse. I have rented points and am at OKW in mid December, 3 nights with 3-1 BR homes, Taking Family with me, I know better than everyone in one house!!!! I have requested rooms near each other, what do you think the chances are of getting in the same building? Again thanks for your input.:Pinkbounc

We closed on a resale the end of June. We used A Timeshare Broker. Made the offer on May 10 and closed approximately 6 weeks later. Jaki walked us through the whole process, answered our questions and kept us well informed. Wouldn't hesitate to use her again when we decide to add-on! Took about a week after our closing to get into the system and make a ressie. Was put on a wait list for November for our first trip home, and just got the confirmation in the mail that it came through! Good Luck!:)

Another vote for Jaki Apetz. We purchased resale through her and she was just great. Walked us through step by step and helped make the deal happen. No regrets. We also had some dealings with Shontell as we were looking for a resale and also found her very professional and helpful. I don't think you can go wrong with either of them. As I think someone already mentioned, the most important thing is "buy where you want to stay".
