There are a few realty compsies that specialize in DVC. One of which sponsors this page. I'm sure that any that you pick out will be able to take your preferences and email you when they have something that matches. The company that is brokering my purchase would text me whenever they got a new contract. It was one of the biggest reasons I bought from them. I didn't have to continually check the listings and when I saw something come up that was right I called right away.

They will send you emails with listing of the resort you are interested in.

However, the best contracts are usually 'grabbed' way before that daily email is sent.

If you want a good price, etc. you have to stalk the various resale companies.

How do you know if a broker is good/reputable? I mean if you buy from Disney you know who you are buying from but with resale unless you have recommendations from someone you know how do you know you are dealing with someone reputable? Is there somewhere you can verify they are licensed brokers?

As a buyer, you never pay a dollar to a broker. Any brokerage asking a buyer for money (other than the earnest deposit that you pay to go to ROFR) is one to not do business with.

Everyone else should be fine from the perspective of the buyer, as literally all the finances are done via a state regulated closing/title agency just as in any other real estate purchase.

For a seller, there are now about a half dozen companies generally regarded as good to work with. One of them is a sponsor of these boards, and others are easy to identify as well.

The company that I went through did not ask for money at all. I did have to send my deposit to the title agency to be kept in escrow. That sounded fairly safe to me.
