We signed sealed and delivered all our paperwork and our final payment for our DVC BWV resale a little over a week ago. Now What? How long will it take before we hear anything? and what happens next?? I am anxious to start booking my next trip to WDW!!!
For a resale, you need to wait until after closing to be able to make any reservations. Closing generally occurs within 30 days after you have signed and returned everything. The broker will inform you when closing takes place. After that, DVC will send out your membership card and member guidelines. You can call DVC after the closing and before receiving those and give them the name of your seller and closing date and they will be able to give you your member number over the phone, at which time you can make your first ressie. You will also receive after closing from the broker or the broker's counsel a copy of all the closing documents including a deed.
You can call Member Services to check if they have you in the DVC computer- they can check by your SS#. Once you're listed in the computer, you may begin making reservations immediately.
It usually takes about a week after closing to make it into the computer, so once you know you've closed you should be OK about a week later.
I agree with all of the above, but would also note that a DVC review board has to first accept the transaction. As I recall, it used to meet every 1-2 weeks. It's really more of a pro forma review to insure that sales don't take place below the floor which Disney wishes to set..........
