DVC Renting

Hi,

my partner and I are looking at maybe renting dvc for 6 nights in November 2016 as our honeymoon trip.
HAs anyone here any experience with renting from ppl personally and could they recommend it?

There are two services that rent out and legit (David's and one that cannot be named on this site). They charge btwn $14-15/pt, I think. For beach club it would be $15/pt to get in on the 11mo mark in November, a prime dvc month.

You can also look for a private owner to cut your costs. That being said, I think most ppl rent for at least $13/pt for beach club (because they can rent to the broker for this amount).

I have never rented myself, but have rented out my points two years ago. I used the boards on this site and made about 6 reservations for different people to consume the 200 points I have. As far out as you are looking you cannot book out yet, but when you get closer I would encourage you to check out the boards as they do an excellent job here.

First of all, Congrats!!!! As Suebeelin said, November is an extremely popular month. I tried to rent through Davids in January (for a November 2015 trip), and they didn't have any points available for the resort I wanted. I ended up purchasing DVC so that I never have to try and rent points from other people.

I don't personally know anyone who rents but if you watch the rent/trade board, several post that they have references from previous renters. Make sure you try and get in at the 11 month mark to increase your chances of getting the room you want.
