We are considering booking a DVC property by renting points sometime during the Fall 2014. Question - are we eligible to participate in Disney Dining Plans, if so - would we be eligible for free dining if we meet the stay length requirements should a free dining plan roll out for the week that we intend to be there? I am guessing no since we would not be booking directly through Disney but wanted to touch base.

Also, what properties have the best kitchens? Should we go this route, we will likely be doing some of our main meals at the villa:banana:. Thanks so much for your info.

Yes, you can get the dining plan. It has to be paid for in full when it is booked. The DVC member is the one that will have to add it to the reservation.

No, you cannot get free dining. Free dining is for those who pay rack rate for rooms. When you rent from a DVC member, you are already getting a discounted room. Even through Disney, you cannot get a room discount and free dining at the same time.

This site has lots of pictures. If you select a resort and then photo gallery, the pictures are labeled so you can see the kitchen. They are all very nice.

Studios do not have full kitchens, only kitchenettes.

Agree. Free dining is a way to fill potentially vacant hotel rooms. You are not making a reservation with Disney but with an individual who uses their points to make a reservation for you. If you want free dining, you must purchase a package directly from Disney.

What are you looking for in a kitchen? All one bedroom or larger have a full kitchen which includes a full sized refrigerator, microwave oven, stove (with four burners and oven), dishwasher. They include a variety of dishes including pots and pans and flatware.

Studios only have kitchenettes - a toaster, undercounter refrigerator and microwave oven. No real dishes except for a few coffee mugs and real glasses. Plus paper plates and bowls and plastic flatware.

You are likely better off deciding where to stay based on the Resort location and amenities rather than the villa kitchen. All of the villas larger than a studio have essentially the same kitchen as PP mentioned.

Basically, for location, you will have to decide between, the Epcot/Studios Resort area, the Magic Kingdom Resort area, The Animal Kingdom Resort area, and the Downtown Disney Resort area.

All of the DVC resorts have basically the same amenities, as in pools, restaurants, bus service etc, but there are a lot of differences. You can look at all of the resorts on the WDW web pages, look at the Disney Deluxe Villa accomodations to see everything.

how much are the DDPs? I saw the deluxe around $100 each
