DVC Rental-Travel Insurance

I'm renting points from a DVC owner for a vacation this coming October. I've been pouring through old threads to try to find an answer to my question, but I'm not coming up with anything concrete.

Is there any way to get trip insurance on my vacation?

Some people have said yes, others no, something about renting a timeshare.

It depends on what you hope to cover. If you are wanting to cover the cost if something happens, such as illness, accident and you can't go, then yes you can probably find coverage for that.

If you are wanting to cover the unlikely case your reservation gets cancelled by the member, no I don't think you can.

I am also renting points for October! I am considering insurance because the trip is 6 months away & who knows what could happen? It is also hurricane season!!

A friend recently used his travel insurance when his brother-in-law became very ill before a cruise. They were refunded all of their money! We are traveling with 6 people, so we are racking up the costs!!

Did you find anything out??
