DVC rental stay questions

Hello. We have a 6 night DVC rental stay at the VGF in 3 weeks and had several questions about housekeeping. I remember reading about some recent changes and wanted to confirm with the members before our trip.

1). Can we request more coffee pouches (Joffrey’s?) and laundry detergents as needed or do we have to purchase them at the front desk?

2) do we still get new towels on day 4? Otherwise, either wash them or pay for the towel packs, correct?

3). Are they still using the small shampoo bottles at VGF and can we request more when we use them up?

1. Can request. This is recent as an update.

2. Yes. I think you can now request them sooner without charge, same update. This is new.

Do studios get free laundry detergent? I know on other threads others have posted that 1,2 and 3 bedrooms do but not studios. Not sure the OP is staying a studio.

Studios do, yeah. They always came with one box. I still recommend bringing your own because the stuff they provide is kinda icky in my opinion.

Do studios get free laundry detergent? I know on other threads others have posted that 1,2 and 3 bedrooms do but not studios. Not sure the OP is staying a studio.

Studios do, yeah. They always came with one box. I still recommend bringing your own because the stuff they provide is kinda icky in my opinion.

In my experience, studios do NOT come with free laundry detergent because they do not have washers in the room.

The community laundry is considered a "room amenity" for the studios. Every studio I have been in has detergent.

ditto - in hundreds of studio stays, not once did we get laundry detergent. From the DVC website under included amenities:
Laundry Detergent (only in 1-, 2- and 3-Bedroom Villas): Includes 1 box for 1 load of laundry

The communal laundry room usually has a vending machine to buy the detergent (we just keep in Owner's Locker/bring laundry pods)

Bring a package of good coffee and laundry pods that way you don't have to worry about it. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash is located in dispensers in the shower and you may want to bring your own. There are small bars of soap at each bathroom sink. I've found you can't count on proper refresh of items - even toilet paper, which was never restocked on our 11 night stay...best to be prepared!

The community laundry is considered a "room amenity" for the studios. Every studio I have been in has detergent.

We've only stayed in OKW studios and they never had laundry detergent. Just dish detergent. Both the laundry detergent and dish detergent are plant based liquid. No more Tide, All or green stuff.

Regarding coffee, by far the best thing to do is to buy a big tub of coffee and a pack of filters so you are set for your stay. Stronger and better than using the pouches.

Drinking dishwater is better than Joffrey's.

I don't drink coffee (or tea), but I heard that Nescafe was even worse.

Hahaha. I agree joffreys isn’t the best coffee but it has caffeine. I’ll definitely order some coffee on amazon prime.
