We are still debating booking Pop vs renting points for SSR. Not a game changer, but curious is there a possibility of getting an upgrade (free) to a higher room category? Or are the rooms very strict to the points you used. Just curious since the resorts are so empty.

Upgrades for DVC are rare. If you are renting and even mention it...not saying you would...and they did it, they could very well charge the owner the extra points,

Basically, you will get the room that you rented unless there is an issue and they need to move you.

Now, I have read of a few moves in the past month since they re-opened, but again, those seem to be the exception vs. the norm,

What seems to be happening is that people are getting in rooms before 4 pm because things are not full.

Thanks for your reply. That would be awful if they used someone else’s points we didn't pay for. We will stick to online checkin so it’s not a risk.
