DVC rental and Magicbands

We are traveling me and my family to Disney in Feb 2014!! Im purchasing a annual pass for that visit because I will be returning in October 2014 with my boyfriend. The October trip will be booked by DVC rental so im sure the magic bands will be out by then...we are staying at AKL and im wondering if we will still get magic bands if we are renting the DVC points? Has anyone done a rental lately and received a magic band? How did you link everything? Just curious!

Yes, you can get MagicBands when 'renting' through a DVC Member.

You would need to link the room reservation to MDE: MyDisneyExperience.com. As soon as you are eligible for MagicBands, there will be a 'Personalize MagicBands' link on MDE.

To make and use FastPass+ selections, you will need to have valid park admission linked to MDE.

Not sure how far out they will be available once the program is fulling deployed. We are included in the upcoming Oct test and we got access at 40 days out. Our MagicBands are set to ship at 30 days prior to arrival.

Also if we purchase annual passes before our feb trip how to we exchange them for Magic Bands

If you are a Disney Resort guest, you can select your color and a name to be embossed on the underside and they will be shipped prior to arrival. Shipping will be to US addresses only, outside of the US the MagicBands will be shipped to the resort for pickup at check-in.

Worst case, you'll get them at check-in if you don't pre-register and select colors. You'll just get the standard grey instead of getting to pick a color.

Assuming it's fully launched and working correctly. This is Disney IT.

We are arriving on 10/31 and got to customize our bands on 8/25. They are not being mailed until end I'd Sept. so we can make any changes until then. Unfortunately, my AP expires on 10/29 and I won't be picking up my new AP until 10/31. Can't make any FP+ reservations.
