Hi guys,

I realize that DVD members can now get the dining plan but I was wondering if the same was true if you rented points? If I rented say five nights from a DVC member would I be eligible for the dining plan? Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes, you can get the dining plan if you rent points. No park tickets are necessary, but everyone on your reservation must get the plan for every night of your reservation. You must make these requests (as well as Magical Express requests) through the person you rented the reservation from. Renters can not call DVC member services.

I rented points in May and I was able to call Member Services directly. I just told them I was a guest of So-and-So. The reservation was in my name and I recieved a confirmation of the reservation by mail.

I booked ME and DDP via phone with Member Services. No problems at all.

It was the first time I rented and I stayed at SSR.

Has the policy changed? If so, then I may not want to rent next time-- seems like a hassle to have to go through the DVC owner.

The good thing about DDP while staying at DVC was you were not required to buy park tickets as part of a package, like they do at the regular resorts. You can just buy the DDP for the # of nights you'll be there.
