while just looking at the rent/trade forum I noticed that when renting points you need to have the # and names of people in your party....just wondering if after reservation are made if someone can't make it can you change the name of the person going??? we would be a party of * in a *...
 
yes you can change the names of the people. the only thing is that if you are renting the points from the dvc member they will have to do it for you.
 
Hi, Yes you can. You would need to call the DVC owner that you are renting from and have them call MS to change names.
 
Please keep in mind you are not renting points from a DVC owner, you are renting a reservation. The DVC owner has complete control over the reservation. They will need to set up everything for the members in your party. On top of reserving the room for you, they will also need to be the one to set up Magical Express and Dining Plan if you are interested in those.

When taking out trip insurance where do you go to find the info???
I guess I'm overly concerned because daughter in law has never flown in a plane and has panic attacks.....I will have invested alot of $$ in this trip and if she backs out need to have a back up plan...

Yes. You can add or subtract to the guests on the reservation. But like others have said the member has to take care of this for you.

I haven't looked into this yet. You might want to post a separate thread to ask about the insurance since it's a new offering.

Yes, you can change the names of the people who are going. I have booked under my name (in order to save the reservation) and then changed the names to the people who are actually going.
 
We rented out points that we own for OKW. The people who rented had several changes in the names/ages of those who would be staying at OKW. We just notified Disney on their behalf (the person above is correct; the DVC timeshare member must contact disney).

On behalf of the renters we also arranged the Disney Dining Plan but I'm not certain if that has changed in the last two years.

Ask the person you are renting from to send you copies of the confirmation from Disney, along with Magic Express reservations.
 
Name changes are allowed. Disney DIning Plan can also be added by the DVC owner up until 48 hours before the reservation. But, the drawback now is that the Dining Plan must be paid in full when adding the plan to the reservation. The policy before last October required payment at check-in. I don't know why Disney has done this because I feel that it will lower the amount of people using the DDP...............
