We are DVC members and own points at the BCV --- which we bought directly from Disney....as with everyone on this board, we want MORE points!! Disney has no BCV or BW points available for re-sale directly -- a couple of months back they had 125 points at 73 pt at the BW.... now nothing. We checked out the various websites who do re-sales, i.e. Timeshare Store, etc.....Why is it that BCV points are so hard to find??? and Boardwalk points are available?? Why BCV over BW??? How much are those BW points really worth??? Some sites have them for $70.00, others $77.00 -- I guess that depends on when the points are available after purchase....... We want to add on -- but should we wait for the BCV points to come up (which is unlikely) or go ahead with a deal on the BW?:

There are more BWV resales than BCV for several reasons. These include that BWV is far larger with more points and that BWV owners have owned much longer. This means it's more likely to find people where their life desires or circumstances have changed such as divorce, bankruptcy, death in the family, etc. The prices will vary widely as well depending more on the seller and broker than teh resort itself. You can offer what you want then the seller decides if they'll take it or not. If you want more BCV points, it will come. Just put yourself on a list with both DVC and several brokers. Do not just watch the websites and look for it to come through.

FWIW, you'll pay current price going through DVD when your number comes up on the wait list. Currently what, $84 p/point?

Just this week, Shontell had a 100 point BCV contract for sale and it went "Sale Pending" the very next day. If you get on her e-mailing lists, she sends updates to you before they go on her main board.

Yes, you pay $84 per point through Disney now, we are on a wait list for points at VWL.

So even if your looking for points from a resort that typically resales at $73 a point, if buy those points when they become available through DVC, they will cost $84?

Yes, you'll pay $84. Remember that there is a closing cost for resales, that is, if you're buying from one of the brokers. So for 100 point purchase, you can pay $400 or more besides the price listed. That is negotiable. Also, you can negotiate the current taxes/maintenance fees, especially if it's a stripped account. Some people have done private purchases, and have saved on brokers fees by only paying the deed transfer fees, perhaps some of those people will see your post and help out there.

With Disney, the cost is $84 per point, total.

PS. Vero Beach is an exception to the $84 per point. Don't know the specifics.

Why BCV over BW???

Because it has a much nicer pool and is closer to Epcot. For these reasons it suits the very young as well as the older folks, who really appreciate the extra short walk to Epcot. Although Boardwalk is a beautiful and wonderful resort, it's prime audience seems to be more mid-teen to mid-adult, although all Disney resorts appeal to all ages.

Beach Club 'has it all' and I think will always be in higher demand, even years down the road, but this is of course just my humble opinion.

We waited many years for Beach Club to be built, turning down many tempting offers (and years of points) to get into Boardwalk and then the WVL and we're so glad we waited!
