I will be buying ap's for our upcoming Xmas trip and had a few questions. Is the rate for a DVC adult regular AP still about $100 cheaper than a regular ( non DVC) AP? Where can I purchase these....usually I buy them at the entrance to a park but can you also buy them at your DVC front desk? I try to buy them when we arrive because I think they start from the moment of purchase not the moment when you first use or activate them ( the way it use to be). Would like to purchase a dining discount card but do you have to have your AP in hand when you do so? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. :Pinkbounc  :wizard:

Yes, it's still $100 off the base price (you actually save a bit more since you are being taxed on a lower price) and you can do this at any ticket window or guest services. That said, I have read that some CMs at the ticket booths are not aware of the discount so you may have to ask them to check with a manager if you have any problems.

I ordered from the DVCmember website and got one AP mailed to the house for the $3 shipping fee. I used that voucher to order my DDE. I was spacing out the AP purchases (one a month) and picked up the other 2 at Will Call at the International Gateway. None of them was activated until we got the real AP from Guest Services. By the way I didn't receive my actual DDE card for about 8 weeks, at a time when they were perhaps slower than now in processing requests.

Just fyi...I order my DDE card 3 weeks ago and we're going to WDW in two weeks so I'm hoping it arives in time. If not, we'll have to get the temp card at Epcot Guest Relations.

Wow! Thanks for the great replies. So if I order an AP now it won't be activated until we pick up real one at the guest window when we arrive at Disney? We will have one year from that date? I thought that was changed and it is one year from the date of purchasing an AP ? Well if that is the case I think I will space out my Aps too and order the first now so I can order the DDE card. I presume the DDE card is good for 1 year from the date of purchase. Is that correct? We are going day after Christmas and I am trying to do this correctly. Thanks again :earboy2: :dog: :wave2:

When you send Disney your money, you're not buying an AP, but an AP voucher. You trade the voucher for the real AP when you go to WDW and your timer starts from that date. However, if you renew an AP, your new AP starts from the day after the old AP expires.

Want to buy an AP for next year, today? why not? :)
