I wasn't sure if this was already common knowledge but this is being reported on DVCNews.com:

"Disney Vacation Club is set to raise the price on three of its older resorts.

Effective Sunday March 7, 2010, the price for points at Disney's Beach Club Villas and Disney's BoardWalk Villas will increase from $106 per point to $115 per point. Additionally points at the Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge will increase from $101 to $102 per point.

Although each of these properties as been "sold out" for many years, Disney Vacation Club does maintain a small inventory primarily for add-on sales to existing members. Until the price increase goes into effect points can still be purchased at these locations at the existing price point.

Ownership at each of these three DVC resorts is scheduled to end on January 31, 2042."

They must be getting a lot of add-on interest in BCV and BWV to increase prices by $9/pt!

I recently was speaking to a guide as we were considering buying BCV direct from DVC. The price at the time was $106 a point. She called me to tell me that we only had a few more days to act on it as the price was going to expire...or increase!
When I asked if they had availability of points there was no hesitation to answer yes.
But she also told me that they were decreasing OKW down to around $90 a point.
I ended up going the resale route and saving myself $22 per point!

I don't blame you. The resale route was already a better bargain but with this new $9/pt increase it becomes a steal. Of course that assumes resale prices don't rise in relation to the new direct prices. I hate to see what the new resort prices are going to on March 7th if this is any indication of their intent.
