We just bought into the Saratoga Springs in 2003.

My wife said that whenever we choose to use points, the point cost of the resort is taken from the 2003 costs. So if I go to the WLV in 2005, I pay 2003 points. Is this correct?

We are going to stay at the POFQ June 20-27, 2004. We would have stayed at the Saratoga Spring but we gave the points to my sister and her fiance for their honeymoon in November 2004. What benefits/perks am I entitled to when paying for my trip next week?

Can I pool hop or use the health clubs?

Thanks:jester:

I'm having a really hard time undterstanding your question. If you are staying in 2005, then the point chart for the stay is 2005. What do you mean by "2003 point costs"?

You can always pay to use health club services, but a cash ressie does not entitle you to pool hoping or other DVC amenities that are for point stays. You can still use the restaurant discounts though if you flash your membership card.

My wife is under the impression that what ever year we choose to go to WDW and use our points to stay, we pay points form the 2003 chart.

No, the point charts do not change apprecialbly each year, but the dates are different. I think what she may be confused about is the fact that the number of points needed for a stay doesn't change within the seasons much. About the only thing that changes is the dates. It floats for spring break and Easter each year. The total number of points available at a resort can not change, but they can be reallocated within the calendar. When you look at your guide book, you will see point charts for each year. That is what you must go by for your stay.

Restaurant discounts are listed on the member website.

I think she is misunderstanding the fact that the total number of points at a resort can never change, under our agreement. The number of points for any given stay will be different (higher or lower) from year to year. For example, the 2005 chart has those expensive Easter break days in March, rather than in April as they were in 2004; If you stayed during the last week of March in 2004 for 350 points (Magic season), but that same week in 2005 would run 462 points (Premier season) because Easter falls in that week.

So the seasons change from year to year, according to the calendar. To make a 2005 reservation, you are gonn be using the 2005 points chart. Try downloading CaskBill's point management program, as he predicts the seasons and point values pretty well, and can help you to stretch your points for maiximum "magic".;)
