DVC question

There are annual dues, with vary depending on the resort. $450+. I believe you can pay these monthly only if you sign-up for automatic debit.

If you finance the purchase, there will be monthly payments until you've paid off the loan.

That's about it.

Of course there are other related costs, like airfare, passes to the parks, etc.

And if you use some of the other programs, like the Member Getaways, I believe there is a small charge ($75?) for each use.

Anyone else think of anything I'm missing?

That sounds complete. The dues will vary by resort. OKW has the lowest dues and VWL I believe has the highest, though, not sure about that.

VB has the highest, followed by BWV, followed by VWL, followed by HH(i think), followed by OKW. Dues range from around 4 dollars per point (VB), to something like 3.16 per point for okw.

How about the expenses related to merchandise that says Disney Vacation Club. I know I have dished out more than a few dollars for DVC clothing on my trips.


But seriously to recap.

DVC Cost

1. Your initial cost to buy the points (Currently $72 per point from Disney - possibly less thru a resale)
2. Interest if you choose to finance the intial purchase (possibly deductable on IRS)
3. Annual Dues for maintainace of the resort currently between $3 and $4 a point depending on where you own at.

Annual dues are charged by the amount of points you own. There is a per point dues charge and it differs by resort. The dues for 2001 are:

OKW = $3.13
HH = $3.32
WLV = $3.63
BWV = $3.83
Vero= $3.97
