Okay just wondering what "DVC" means. I saw in a thread where someone wanted to know if they could use their DVC points to upgrade to another stateroom. Also anyone have any comments about CAT 6 and/or rm. 6542? Looking for noise, roominess, varrandah and convenience sort of comments. Make sense? I am getting ready to set sail next saturday. I'm a little nervouse about what to expect with all the storms that have brewed, kicked our U.S. tail and the new nasty guy Ivan. I just keep in mind this is my family vacation and we are fortunate that we are all together and have the opportunity to take a vacation together... oh not to mention it's a cruise w/ disney and full of wonderful people, food and lots of sun. Still hoping for CC and Antigua. Okay let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

DVC is the Disney Vacation Club. It is Disney's form of a timeshare and you buy a certain amount of points when you join. You then use these points to stay at their timeshare villas...BWV, BCV, OKW and VWL (there are others too). You can also use your purchased points to go on their cruises. That is just what we are doing in April, so if feels like the cruise is free! Nice.

Thank you very much Jillpie. I was feeling a little "disney lingo challenged".

we stayed in cabin 6542 on the Wonder and LOVED it. very close to the stairs (took them most often for any calories I could burn ;)) and elevator. we had no trouble with noise at all, DH very light sleeper. I did feel some motion at night, but nothing horrible and we were on a different route anyhow, different month, etc. I also liked the closeness to Triton's (Lumiere's on the Magic) and felt comfortable leaving my DDs ages 10 and 6 in the room in the morning while they ordered room service and DH and I went to Triton's for a nice breakfast. We weren't far from the kids clubs either. Seemed to be a nice location for us

as far as roominess, this was our first cruise ever. We didn't bump into each other, loved the pull-down bed, and the verandah was plenty big for DH and I to sit out and drink coffee in the a.m. we really weren't on the verandah too much - but 4 day cruise for us. The split bath was a lifesaver! Do bring an over the door shoe holder for your toiletries though. Ample closet room and had no trouble stashing our luggage (under the bed I think, we put the lifejackets in the closet shelves)

there was a nice sized desk for our catch-all and enough drawer room between the dresser and standing trunk to unload our clothes, but again a 4 day for us. I do think we took a travel alarm clock as i had read there were no lighted clocks in the room.

hope that helps :) anything else I can maybe answer?

thought of one more thing :)

good proximity to the laundry -- not RIGHT THERE but not far either -- we were land/sea and I planned on doing a load of whites and jean shorts upon embarkation and had no problems. also-- i ironed everything the first evening (I took first shower and then ironed while fam showered, etc) and had no problems again and was glad it was all done for the cruise

We stayed in 6542 this past April. This is the 2nd time we stayed in section of rooms. GREAT location to kids clubs, stairs, deck 4 & atrium. We are a family of 4, DH, DD 10 & DS 6. It was quite cozy when we were in the room. It's far enough away from the laundry that you don't get the noise or heat. We packed less and brought smaller suitcases this past time. We were able to put 2 suitcases in the closet and the other 2 on either side of the foot of the bed close to the walls.(privacy curtain hide them).

Wish we were sailin'
