DVC Purchase Question

Hi. Wondering if some one could help. We have just come back from WDW and think that we will purchase 200 points at SSR . When we did the tour we were told that we could get the 200 points as two contracts of 160 and 40 points. The reason we were thinking of this is that if we decide that we are not using all the 200 hundred points we could sell the 40 point contract and keep the 160 points. Does anybody know of any catches that I am missing that would mean that this is not as good as it seems.

I can't think of a downside. Dis will only let you buy the same UY, which means as long as you purchase at the same resort, the points can be combined. We purchased 2 contracts, a 120 and a 270 (SSR, August UY) and beside the fact that I can see 2 contracts on dvcmember.com, I would never know I had 2 contracts.

Also, if you ever decide to sell, you have more options. You can get rid of either or both contracts. It will be much easier to sell two smaller contracts than one larger one. Overall, I'd say splitting is good advice.

You need to buy 225 points for this deal, unless there is a recent change. The op is buying 200.
