If you have a Disney Premier Visa does DVC purchases count as a "qualifying purchase" to earn the extra 1% for a total of 2% spent in Disney reward dollars?

If so, I am going to apply for the Disney rewards premier card as (i currently have about 50k in available credit with Chase between a SW premier card and a normal Disney Visa card.

If DVC purchases are not considered qualifying purchases, does anyone have a recommendation of a good rewards card to open up to get those credit card perks? FYI - we are paying cash so I figured we would charge our contract and then pay off the credits to maximize credit card perks. We don't carry balances on our credit cards so there is nothing to worry about there.

Thanks.

We plan on using discounted Disney gift cards to pay yearly dues. Should be able to get 5% or more going that route.

We charged ours onto our quicksilver card and paid it off as we do not carry balances on our CC either. We got 1.5% back.

If you are going to apply for a new card, you are probably better off applying for one with a straight 2% cashback. That way, you are not limited to using the reward at Disney (you still can if you want).

Premiere cards usually have a yearly fee so subtract that from your reward. We use an all purchases 3% card for most of our purchases and Disney gift cards for our dues.

When I bought direct, there was no fee for paying by CC so definitely did that to earn reward points . (Just regular points, no additional bonus but not on Disney visa).

However, when I bought resale the title company charged 3% if one used a CC so just paid with cashier's check

To answer the OP's question, yes DVC purchases do count for the 2% rewards. If you are going to make a direct purchase, get this card first and it will easily make up for the $49 annual fee.

I don't think that it is the best card but I believe that your guide can get you a code that gives you 6 months interest free on the Disney Chase card.

From the card website:

Get 0% APR financing for 6 months on the purchase of a real estate interest, including a Member Add On, in a Disney Vacation Club® Resort. After your promotional APR expires, your standard purchase APR will apply. For new accounts, the standard purchase APR is 16.74% variable.

Good way to finance a small add on and earn 2% cash back at the same time.

We just bought Poly direct using our United Credit card last month. Basically it gave us one free flight. We use this card for everything and pay off eac month.
