DVC price for the DDP's in 2011?

I'm actually starting to look forward to NOT going with DDP next year. Absolutely agree with those who feel like they eat more with the plan than they would otherwise. There are so many places where I'd just as soon have an appetizer and dessert...more often than not when I have a full sized entree, I'm too full for dessert. But I order it regardless because it's included. I think we'll be eating a lot more sensibly without the DDP.

When our Dec. 2011 use year comes around we are planning on getting APs again. Then we can get the TIW card correct? We have always done DDP and I don't know anything about TIW. How does it work? I'm thinking since my girls would both be adults on the DDP it might make more sense for TIW. Typically for example if we went to Les Chefs De France my 10 year old would pick a bowl of soup and nothing else. To pay for DDP for her would be a huge waste of money based on the way she eats. Confused! :confused3

If you have an AP you can buy a TIW card for around $70 (I don't recall the precise cost - sorry). The card gives you 20% off your TS meals, including alcoholic beverages. You may also use the card at lounges, several of the DTD restaurants, and most recently some of the Swan/Dolphin restaurants were added.

My DS14 is tiny, and he still orders from the kid's menu the majority of the time. He likes calamari for an appetizer, so he can get calamari or sushi, a kid's entree, and whatever dessert he wants (or none if he is full) and it is all eligible for the 20% discount. It works MUCH better than forcing him to order from the adult menu.

I don't believe they have made any announcements for TIW for 2011, it's possible the price will go up or the plan modified.

Gutting popular programs over time until they are evenually no longer popular is normal for Disney. Remember the Food N Fun card anyone?

Eventually, the price will override the convenience even for those cash guests that prefer all pre-paid vacations, and it will be replaced by something else to fill the cash rooms.

They have already removed the tip/gratuity from the plan so it can't be a pre-paid plan/program at all. For it to be all inclusive/pre-paid for me it you would include the meal and the tips. Drinks extra are understood by most.

But many here do consider the DDP, even in its current state, to be a pre-paid plan.

Reading the boards, we see in post after post that some people like having their meals paid for, so they don't have "worry about" money during their trip.

I agree - it seems as if you and bonrea are discussing two different things:

Prepaid vs. All inclusive

The DP is more of a prepaid program, I will agree with you here, but it is not all-inclusive, as other fees are associated with it. A prepaid program does not need to be all inclusive at all - two different animals, IMHO.

Tiger :)

Apparently there is a survey out asking if people would pay to have unlimited fastpasses for a day. :rolleyes1

OK... you've spilled the beans; where is the survey? Does anyone have the link or is it online at all?

Again new here, Question - What is TIW

Tables In Wonderland. It is a discount card that may be purchased by Florida resident and all Annual Passholders. The TiW gives you (and your dining party of up to 9 additional people) a 20% discount at almost all Table Service restaurants and lounges. It also is valid at Value resort and Animal Kingdom Park counter service venues.

It sounds like it was sent to some recent visitors of WDW and DL.

And here's one thread I found on the themepark boards from someone who took it.
