Looking for advice on booking Disneyland Paris for May 2026 with DVC points vs booking hotel/tickets directly and paying out of pocket. And does anyone have knowledge of when DLP releases point charts for May 2026? They just released through March 2026 but I am worried by the time we try to book with points rooms will be limited as I have heard middle of May can be busy in Paris. Thanks!

Unless you've got more points than you know what to do with, I'd recommend going direct and paying cash rates. The exchange rates are painful considering you're paying points at a premium from even the most expensive DVC resorts for what equates to value/moderate hotel stays.

If this is the only Disney trip you're planning for the year, I'd personally prefer to bank those points for a super awesome stay somewhere next year at a DVC resort and pay cash for the DLP booking.

I’d go to DVC Resale Market or a similar company that may offer a tax free swap. You’ll likely end up much better than the terrible direct exchange rates.

Thanks for the insight! Makes sense. First time heading to DLP so trying to figure it all out. So much online that I knew DVC members would have better insight.

Where are you looking at staying? When we went we stayed at Sequoia and enjoyed it, but if it were open when we went we would have stayed at the Disneyland hotel and bit the bullet on the insane cost. The Marvel hotel would have been our second option. We did like Sequoia and got WL vibes from there, but the Disneyland Hotel to me is something special and given we don’t plan on going but once in a very long while we thought it would be worth the cost but it was still under construction when we went.

You also may be right, it may be very hard to use points given he are rebranding and opening Disney Adevture World in late March. I would jump on anything you can right away as I would expect it to draw a major crowd when you are looking to go especially if your travel dates aren’t flexible. Also, highly recommend the Premiere pass, it was a descent cost but worth it, especially when it’s busy.

Looking to stay at Marvel or Sequoia. Marvel is first choice. It’s a college graduation gift so while I would love to splurge on the main hotel I’m saving that for myself! Ha! Going in mid-May which we also heard can be a little busy so just worried about finding a hotel and the fact the Disney has not released the DVC point chart for DLP yet. Trying to determine if it’s better to wait and use DVC points through the Collection exchange or just pay cash. Worried may not be the rooms we want it we wait for the point chart.

The answer is the same as for all exchanges (cruised, ABD, Disney non DVC Hotels, Tokyo, Paris etc): you are always better off renting the points and paying cash, by quite a margin.
In favour of using points there's only the convenience, but in this case, not even that, because you don't know when the point chart will be released.

Well, just because a broker says it's tax free doesn't mean it is obviously. I doubt they'll answer their phone call if the IRS questions it. Not that the IRS would ever know about it more than likely. But if they did...
