Hey Everyone.

I'm under contract for two DVC resale's totalling 350 Points. When I went to the DVC presentation a Saratoga Springs several months ago, I recall one of the things we discussed was excahnging DVC points for a Disney Cruise...I thought it "cost" 150 points per person, per cruise.

Can anyone confirm this? How long would the cruise be? :wave2:

Hi,
The amount of points needed for each person for each cruise depends on the length of the cruise and the category of cabin you're in. There is also a $75 transaction fee because you are going "out of network" essentially. Here's a quick link to a DVC page on a very good resource on all things Disney.

We've been members since 1995 and have added on several times. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any other questions. We've used DVC points for cruises many times in the past and are again for a December '05 cruise.

As Bearfan stated, the amount of points does depend on the category of stateroom and the length of cruise you're on. It can be as little as 67/person (for the first 2 people in the cabin) for an inside cabin on a 3 day cruise or as much as 600 points/person (for the first 2 people) for a cruise like the 10 day cruise during the holidays in a Family Suite.
You can check out the point requirements here:

Best of luck on getting your 2 contracts approved

Ya, what everyone else said... :teeth:
We are cruising for the first time in May, and yes, we are using points! :drinking:

We are going in January using points.

It cost a $75 fee to book.

It cost 388 points for the 7 night Eastern Carribean cruise for January for 2 adults and 2 children in a Category 11 room (inside basic stateroom...no portholes or balcony)

We have 320 points/year, but got 100 bonus, so it covered the cruise.

If we really like the cruises, we might do one every couple of years.....and if we go during more peak times (June, July), then we will have to bank or borrow some points to cover it.

Not as good of a value of points as staying in a Villa for the same amount of time, but still worth it, IMO.
