DVC points cruise October 2008?

So, DVCmember.com show that you can book right now for cruises up to... "Currently, you may request a reservation for a Disney Cruise Line® vacation that has a sail date on or before July 24, 2008."

We are actually looking at October 2008 for a 4 day on the Wonder, so that should be avaliable to book in November 2006. But the Wonder may be in dry dock for the beginning of October that year and will maybe have a DVC cruise on it the thrid week of October 2008 (if they keep up the pattern going,it should be sailing around the 20th. We actually would want to book a cruise that sails on the 20th, if that cruise is changed to a DVC cruise, do we get bumped as well, even if booked on DVC points? I am assuming at this point we would be bumped, and have to join the line-up with other DVC members. And will we have to pay a second $75 fee, if we chose to not re-book a normal cruise and tried for the DVC member cruise (if it is scheduled)?

Hey Penny!

If you book a Cruise and then it becomes a "charter" cruise, yes they bump you off. And if it is a DVC Member Cruise, you will still have to join in the Ressie Rush that day that they open up for ressies.

I would wait and see if they announce another Member Cruise for 2008.

I just was on the site and could not find the statement that said you could book through July '08. Could you please let me know where you saw this.

My understanding is that you can only book through '07 at this point.

If you go into your "My DVC" and then at the top of the "Points" section it will let you know how far out one can book at;
1. home resort
2. other DVC resorts
3. DCL
4. Banking of points.

It kind of throw me that we could book so far out on DCL, but there it was.

now, is there a $75 fee for a DVC member cruise? I guess we will hold off on booking the cruise part of the vacation, until after the 2007 member cruise (if there is one), when any annoucement might be made.
