Does anyone know of any charities that help people get to WDW in conjunction with DVC owners who want to donate a reservation or help make a reservation? Have some points and thought it might be a good idea. Thanks.

I'm thinking Give Kids the World and Make A Wish would probably love to have a reservation, but you'd need to work with them as far as the names, etc, just like any other point rental.

Or if you have a charity that works in a similar manner, check with them.

Just a note your donation (although generous) is not tax deductable.

In regards to options, I have spoken with Make-A-Wish before and although they would love to accept the donation of points, they directly would be unlikely to use them because most of those who go are placed in housing in Disney that is supportive to life-care needs of those going. If they were going to use them it would more likely for a fundraiser to raise general capital at a silent auction or similar, and they would request obviously some guidelines on acceptable timeperiods, room size, location, etc (it would be a lot of work on the part of the donor).

One other thing is that if you were going to give the points as a transfer, most likely they still would be unable to use them because of the one transfer (in or out) per year, so even if they already had an account they used, it would be hard for them to use a small amount of points granted to them without the ability to obtain more points via another transfer.

as others have stated, it is a generous thought.

probably best to rent the pts and donate the cash, though.
