DVC Points +2 nites cash?

Hi, I have a res. for BCV in July 5 nites(Sunday- Thursday) on points in a 2 Bedroom. Yesterday(calling MS) I was able to get Friday and Saturday nights at the BCV in a 1 Bedroom for cash with a member discount. When I asked about linking the reservations the CM said NO can do. But after I got off the phone and thought about it I was like WHY NOT?? I have gone from a 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom on the same trip(with ALL points) and had the reservations linked and we were able to just stay in the same room.(the studio next door was unlocked for us) So should I call back(MS) and try again to link or are cash and points NOT linkable?? If both the points reservation and the cash reservation are booked thru MS (you already stated they were since you got the member discount), they can definitely link the two together if they are both the same room type. I'd call back and talk with a different CM.

If you booked the cash nites thru CRO, they can't link the reservations.

You were fortunate when the linked (in advance) your reservations to move from a 1BR to a 2br. They will try to make that happenm but usualy won't link them together ahead of time. They will link a reservation that goes from a 2BR to a 1BR and allow you to stay in the 1BR for both reservations. We have done it both ways in the past, but they wouldn't link the reservations when we had the 1BR first and then the 2BR (but it worked out anyway- the front desk was great about making it happen at check-in.)

I'd sure call back and ask again to link the two reservations (as long as they are the same room type).

The CM is wrong. We always do points and cash and have always been able to link them. Definitely call back.

If you have a 2 bedroom with the 2 queens, you can't get the cash nights in the same room. Or if a lockoff is only available for the cash nights and you have dedicated for the points nights (or vice versa). That maybe why they are telling you that you can't link them, they may not be the same room type.

We are leaving Saturday for a week with 6 nights on points and the last cash. They linked our reservations together.
