DVC point rental and DDP

Not sure where to post this, but if you rent DVC points from an owner, can you still do the DDP if you get your tickets thru Disney?

you don't have to get your tickets thru Disney to get DDP using a member points.

just tell the member to add DDP to your plan. (you have to pick which DDP so do this first)

you pay for the DDP when you arrive at the resort.

If you rent points, YES--you can do the DDP and purchase your tickets from wherever you wish.

Note: the owner will need to add the DDP to your reservation at least 48 hrs prior to your arrival. You will pay for the DDP when you check in.
