Massasauga rattlesnakes here! Never bit but I have seen at least 3 possibly 4 when in a swamp area in western NY.

I grew up in South Alabama on 5 acres of land that was filled with rattlesnakes. You could not move a hose pipe, a big rock or a flower pot without a rattlesnake being curled up underneath. I have a memory of being about 8 or 9, watching Scooby Doo with my younger sister, looking down to see a rattlesnake slithering across the living room floor right between us!! My mother got very proficient at killing rattlesnakes with a hoe. It is not unusual for my Dad to kill rattlesnakes on their farm that are bigger than his arm. To this day, I am always on the lookout for snakes when we are in the woods.

Sorry to get off the snake topic and back to the original post.... Has anyone talked to MS and asked them when the charts are coming out?

I talked to MS on 12/19 when I made a reservation. They will see them at the same time we do(she mentioned they never are told anything until the last possible minute).

I made an inquiry last week beyond MS and was simply told "soon"... :confused3

That sounds like my job. I can't tell you how many times I've talked to a customer on the phone and have no idea what they are talking about. Only to get a company e-mail a few minutes later describing what they were asking for.

I did talk to member satisfaction last week. They were very nice but as clueless and not satisfying.

I got a call from DVC member satisfaction and was told they are listening to us and that my comments would be passed on. We'll see.

This is frustrating!!!!

Trying to do some planning, but it's pretty impossible without the point charts. And it makes me wonder what they are up to this time.

I remember being at a Boston hotel last year when the chart first appeared, and within a little while they were withdrawn from the member site. My guess is that they're tweaking the charts again and are waiting for the last possible moment to present them. Shucks, when we first joined you got 2 years worth of charts that never changed, and now you are really kept in the dark. That's not good movement.

Bobbi:goodvibes

I understand why points need to be changed and I don't really have an issue with them changing within the rules, but it seems like they should be adjusting the 2012 charts and then next year the 2013 charts. The DVC system causes members to do a lot more planning then guests paying cash. Not having information until the last minute really affects banking, borrowing, transfers, room type, length of stay, etc.

Very frustrating! :headache:

I am going to venture a guess, only a guess, that the 2011 points charts will come out on January 22, 2010.

I second this emotion....

I just talked to member services. I have a June use year and am making plans for 2011. If I need to do any banking or transferring the deadline is 1/31/2010. I explained this to MS and was told the charts should be out in time to give me about a week to make my plans.

I hear you. We are trying to plan a trip with friends. The delay is disapointing and becoming more common from Disney.

My spreadsheet is waiting for the new adjustments.

It's too bad that they weren't able to respond with a different action to one of the biggest complaints that has been happening - little or no notification of changes. :sad2:

Is it possible that THV can go into a new higher category for all seasons than a regular SSR 2BR? And the rest of SSR categories gets a points reduction in all seasons? I am sure this will go over like a lead balloon to anyone who bought SSR recently to get THV at the 11month mark.

Lets fact it, THV are the most popular category (maybe of any DVC resort) and the rest of SSR seems to have much better availability.

Does the fact that THV are titled / alloted separately preclude this?

I have never tried to book a THV (way more room than I need). Are they really popular? I would imagine they would be with their low point charts. I haven't been paying much attention to how fast they are getting booked, but they do look pretty cool and relaxing. If they are that popular I could see them being modified this time around. I am curious also if they are "separate" from SSR or if they are all one big pool of points.

I believe it is possible. However since they are such unique units, I would think that DVC would be wise to wait a few more years to see what sort of trends emerge.

Other people have stated that only half of the Treehouses have been rolled into DVC at this point. That could mean that members only have access to 30 of the 60 treehouses. There's also the possibility that demand will go down a bit after some of their newness wears off.

Well...just one anecdote here...and it is heresy...but a friend of ours was surprised for her birthday with an upcoming trip to WDW. She was very excited...and he booked them at THV.

Since I'm the local planning freak she asked me for some links and I included a link to the photo tour from Dis.

Well...after seeing the photos she decided that she did not like THV...she hated the look.

They have now switched to VWL ;)
