DVC Plans After SSR?

Actually, I would not be surprised to see both a Deluxe add-on AND Eagle pines construction at around the same time. The Deluxe add-ons are typically smaller sized sites, and with the speed at which BCV sold out (due in no small part to member add-ons) Eagle Pines would be needed quickly anyway.

If SSR is mainly new contracts (as opposed to addons) then I'd think DVD would be smart to attack the market from two angles. Go for both the addon and new contract markets. I think the percentage of members that would purchase more points at a Monorail resort would be very high. SSR is at least right near DD -- Eagle Pines will be off on its own away from everything except golf...

SSR and Eagle Pines don't tempt us at all. A monorail resort is a guaranteed addon. So my pocket book hopes the next few years WILL be tied up in SSR and Eagle Pines.

Only time will tell though...

We're going back to WDW in a couple of weeks (currently in South Florida). If nothing official has been announced by then I'll see if I can dig up anything more concrete.

That sounds great Bill. I hope you can find out something a little more concrete.

My wife and I are planning a DVC purchase next summer, and If a Deluxe Add-On is in the works, we would definately be interested in that.

And next week, DH will be golfing at Eagle Pines 1 day and Osprey Ridge another. He'll see what information he might get over there about future plans.

I have to wonder...if DVD put a DVC on CR...would it have the 50 year expiration or the 40 year? If I were ME I'd want the tie in to the old expiration date on units attached to deluxe resorts.

It's unlikely that Disney will announce anything official about the next DVC resort until all 12 buildings at SSR are within a year or two of selling out. Until then, all any of us are likely to hear is that EP is still in the plans. But that doesn't mean that EP will be next (although I think it will be).

The folks who work at the DVC desks at the resorts and parks don't know any more about what options are being considered and what decisions are being made by the executives at Disney Vacation Development than the rest of us.

There is one thing to watch for: actual construction. Disney has a habit of often starting construction before making official announcements. So if earthmovers and bulldozers are making big mess around the Eagle Pines golf course, or if the garden wings at the Contempary are imploded one day, I would consider that as good as an official announcement.

My guess is that any DVC resprts for the next 8-10 years will have the same expiration date as SSR.
