Just wanted to let people know that this is a really easy way to get a free gift card for Disney. If you happen to get an email offering you a card (the amount can vary, but usually $25) for taking a "phone tour" of DVC, it's really fast and easy. They don't hound you at all and it doesn't take much time. You'll get an email with an e-card for $25, usually the next day. They'll ask you for the code in your email so be sure to have that handy. Once in a while you can get one for a physical tour, and those are usually more ($50-100). I had an offer slipped under my door a few years ago for $100 gc if I visited the office in DTD. It took longer than the phone tour, but $100!

Anyway, I generally get one of these email offers every year and I've posted about it before, with lots of people saying they just deleted it because they didn't realize what it was. Wanted to let anyone else who got one of these emails know that it's an easy thing and they don't bug you later.

Also, at least in the past the physical DVC tour came with FPs. We were offered 4 multi attraction FPs each to do the tour.

I did this a couple of years ago. Easy peasy and I ended up getting TWO $25.00 gift cards. Don't know why, but I didn't question it!

Very important to add, these offers are only intended for the email recipients! If anyone here receives an offer, please do not share it in this forum. This has happened before and the offer has gotten wildly out of hand. Enough so that DVC ran out of gift cards for those who had legitimately received the email.

I've never had an offer like that. I wonder if it's because I purchased from them a long time ago. I sold since then, but maybe they still think I already know about it and don't bother with me.

I am pretty sure I get them because I book at Disney hotels fairly often (2-3 times a year). They seem to target the person who made the booking; my sister often travels with me and while her name is on the booking, I'm the one who always makes the arrangements and it goes on my card.

I just got another one today! It's for an actual physical tour and it's $50. Cool :) I'd actually be interested in DVC if I could get into the new one projected to go in at DLH.

theluckyrabbit made a very good point, but I think that was Disney's mistake as they did not target the offers with a specific code, so people would simply call and say they'd received the email offer. I believe it was for Disney Visa holders that time but they neglected to include an offer code so they gave up trying to figure out who should or should not be getting the deal. I assume that they now reference the code to the email recipient as that must have been an expensive mistake for them.

Yes, the DVC gift card offer I got a few years ago was offered through Disney Visa. BFF (also a Disney Visa member) didn't get the offer and we wondered why. I'm wondering now if the fact that I was always the one to book our stays (onsite) had anything to do with it.

I did the physical tour on Friday. My BF’s family are owners. We each got two fastpasses and I got a $50 gift card. It took about an hour in total and we were able to inquire about the new tour.

Oh yeah! My sister had a Disney Visa but didn't get the offer. I told her to call and see if she was eligible since she had the Visa, as the email specifically said it was for Disney Visa holders, and they said yes. But once word of that got out, everyone started calling whether they had a Disney visa or not and most of the early callers got gc's as well.

I told my BFF to call and tell them she was a cardholder too, but she was too chicken to try.

I didn't know things got out of hand like that. I guess it must not have been too horrendous or they wouldn't be offering it again. FWIW I didn't get an offer this time (and I'm not calling). But I did get an email from DVC out of the blue.

Can you just inquire about these tours when you are there? Or do you need to be approached about taking a tour to get these offers?

478087I was looking around the Disney website and there was an advertisement at the bottom for 3 free FastPass with a tour in person or online/phone......i took a screenshot and wish I had done it then because I can’t get it to show up again :(

Is it because you were on the Disneyworld site?

I am not sure - our hotel keys designated the whole party as owners. My BF's dad will chat with anyone and we had stopped at the little market in DLH so he started chatting with the DVC. The salesman offered a tour since I was a newbie to DVC and said I'd qualify for the $50 gift card even though the rest of the party are owners. Sorry I'm not more helpful.

I just wanted to let you know that I called this morning about arranging a physical tour for $50. I was connected to the Disneyland office and the guy who answered asked me where I was staying when I visit next. When I said Disneyland Hotel, he said, "Good news! If you're staying on site you get a $100 gift card!". You might just try calling them to see about setting up a tour if you're interested.
