I am trying to book 11/12/10 & 11/13/10 at SSR in a two bedroom for cash purchase, however I keep calling and i'm told there is nothing available. DVC says the believe they just haven't opened it up for cash sale yet, but don't know for sure. I always book at the 11 month window and have never had an issue purchasing the weekend nights for cash at the same time... Has anyone else run into this?? Does anyone know if something has changed as to when they open DVC up for cash sales?? The Treehouse villas is open but not SSR... Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Are you saying that booking with the DVC 25% discount isn't available, or that it isn't available even at full price?

It isn't uncommon for the discout to not be available this far out, especially if CRO is expecting or negotiating with a specal group or convention for that time.

Also, with one of the pools going down for a major rehab and reconstruction, they may be looking at closing some of the buildings due to noise, so that would limit availability.

It isn't available at all, not even full price. I even tried booking it thru the Disney World website rather than DVC and it's not available there either. Do you which pool will be down and what the dates are???

The Paddock pool is going down for rehab in 2010 but I don't think they have an exact timeframe- they are expanding it, putting in a waterslide, play area, and quick service area (burgers are the only food they have mentioned so far).

Here is a quote from Doc's report of the annual association meetings:

SSR will have an enlargement of the Paddock pool area - complete with waterslide. The pool will be almost tripled in size (to 3300 sq. ft.) with a 146 ft "curly" waterslide and a quick service dining option will also be added there. It will be a zero entry pool. The expense will be 0.41 per point with most covered from reserve funds resulting in additional cost of 0.11 per point covered by members.

As rlovew said, no firm dates for the construction have been announced.
