 This may not be the right place for this question, if not I apologize and please move it. I have a strange question and hope that someone can help me with this information. My DH, DD and I hope to buy DVC this summer and in trying to decide where we are going to buy, my DH (a bass fisherman) would like to know more about the parking areas of the DVC resorts. :rolleyes2: He would like to bring his boat and truck (a long rig when hooked up together.) :boat: I think we could park it ok (but would need 2 parking spaces). His question is about plugging it up. Any ideas where I could find out if there is any electric outlets near parking areas that we could use (we would pay for the use.) Strange request, I know, but important to a bass fisher!

I don't know about electrical outlets, but parking will depend upon the size of the boat & trailer. For OKW, you may be asked to park the boat over at Port Orleans, Some trailers and RVs are too large for OKW to accomodate.

you know he can't use his boat on WDW property right?

you have to use WDW boats on their property.

No, we are not planning to use his boat on property. We have been several times and he thought if we bought DVC, he might take the boat and go south to fish at Okeechobee for a day while my DD and I enjoyed the parks.:woohoo:

I am guessing here. I would think if you contact member services and/or the resort ahead of time something could be worked out. I am assuming you would end up parking somewhere out of the way. I have seen large RV's at the resorts before. I have not seen any power hook ups. Fort Wilderness lots are the only ones I know of. I would ask the guide when you talk to one to buy. You could try calling the resorts now and ask. They may be able to help you.

We have an RV we take occassionally (to extend stays at Ft. wilderness for the weekends). I would suspect rules might be similar.

1. You will not have electrical hookups anywhere.

2. OKW, no units over 24 feet long, and must fit within the lines marked for an individual vehicle. If you can't meet this, then you must park at Port Orleans.

3. BWV, can park in the back lot only. Way back by the taxi waiting area. Cannot park in the main self park lot.

4. BCV, OK to park there but they request you park way in the back.

5. VWL, similar to BCV, you are asked to park way in the back, not in the regular parking spaces.

Don't know about SSR or AKV. I would suspect SSR is similar to OKW. AKV might let you park way in the back away from the most commonly used areas.

If this is the only vehicle you'll have, I think you can still use the common parking lot at Ft. Wilderness and uncouple the boat and leave it there. Then use the truck for regular transportation.
