DVC Package Arrived

Excited and overwhelmed are the feelings today when the package arrived! Paperwork is lengthy and I feel like we are agreeing to give Disney our 1st born! Made our 1st reservation though and will probably make our next reservation before the week is out! Kids are so excited that we will have gone to Disney 3x in one year!!(Went this past fall pre-DVC)

Congrats on getting your paperwork. How long after settlement did it take for the paperwork arrive? Also, did the package from DVC explain how to make reservations and banking and borrowing points, etc.?

Thanks for any input you can provide.

Not sure about the OP but we purchased direct on a Saturday and had our paperwork on Tuesday..notorized Wednesday....mailed back to DVC on Thursday...on DVC desk Friday....very fast. Resale take much longer but are a great option. The Guide did our reservation on the phone right after we purchased. You can look at DVCNews.com and Passporter has a downloadable DVC giude that is inexpensive and very good. Stay on this forum and you will learn more than you every thought needed. THis message board is fantastic.

When do I get my membership card and # though? Trying to access the DVC member website and I need that info. 1st. Do we get that after we mail everything back?

Yes, the package had a large booklet in it which gives info. about banking and borrowing etc. I have actually gotten much of that info. just from reading these boards and listening to the "Disney experts"! I know it will take some time for us newbies to learn the tricks of the trade, but I'm confident that with these boards we will be able to navigate our DVC planning easier.

If memory serves me right, it was something like 4 weeks before we got our access number, and maybe another 4-6 weeks afterward that we got our membership cards - But that was 4 years ago. Maybe a call to member services might help?

Although we waited for the package in the mail, I beleive you can call MS and get the information needed to sign on to the member website. Maybe someone else can confirm this for certain.......

Yes. Call MS. We kept calling a week after our resale closed the end of January. On day 9 after close we were in and got our membership number and the code we needed to login to the dvcmember website. We also made our first reservation at that time. I think we got our member packet a week or so later and the membersip card 2 weeks after that. We leave in 22 days for our first DVC stay at the GCV and we can't wait!

We received a temporary member card about 2 weeks after closing when we purchased direct, we were back at WDW on a cash stay for a family gathering when it arrived so that's a bit of an estimate. But like others have stated you can call MS and ask them for your member number and still make reservations.
