By checking in my resort room online; will this allow me to be able to check-in my room when I arrive to the resort. :confused3 I plan to get there sometime mid morning Friday, Oct. 9th. If not, what is the benefit of doing so.

Thanks!

No, it does not provide the advantage of actually getting room any earlier than before -- which could be when you check in or you may have to wait until 4. It simply allows you to check in quicker because your packet and room keys will already be ready for you to pick-up when you check in.

I did the online check-in for the first time over Labor Day at SSR and let me tell you, it was the fastest I've ever been in and out of there. No line, my treehouse was ready and we were in it before the rains came! :thumbsup2

One other possible advantage is that online check-in removes the step of giving the front desk your Credit Card info. No one at the desk sees your number, it simply indicates that a CC is on file. One extra little bit of security, considering there are occasional reports of CC fraud that some victims feel is the result of the resort front desk, though there are lots of ways to skim a CC number, from the gas pump, to the grocery store, to restaurants.

I used online check-in last June. At OKW the key printer was offline that morning, and our assigned room wasn't ready, so there was no advantage that way. They did re-assign us to a ready room, after they asked if a wheelchair-accessible room would be OK with us. And they got the key printer working after about 20 minutes, so we did get a room.

Thanks everyone! I will do the online check-in. I am staying at SSR.
