DVC on Cruiseline...

Wouldn't it be great if you could buy DVC points on the new ships being built???

There'd be a whole deck just for DVC owners at lower points than the current exchange program.....

It's not the same as a time share ownership, but I believe there is a cruiseline out there that the staterooms are actually PURCHASED (just like you would purchase a condominium on land).

That would be AWESOME if DVC were able to build it's own Cruiseship to purchase DVC ownership on!! But, I wouldn't even want to think about how much THAT would cost to purchase!! OR how many points it would take to book a stateroom.

Unfortunately it will not happen according to my guide. Disney supposedly looked into it and due to the wear and tear that the ships have they did not feel comfortable with the life span of a ship.

Funny you should bring this up. Over the weekend there was a program on the Travel Channel about this. There are a few of them cruising the world. This one featured the first, "The World". The ship and the different cabins was stunning. Yes, this was big bucks! Most of the people who bought in were truely the richest of the rich.

They one thing they did stress was not to think of it as a cruise ship that had all the programs and action going on. It was much more sedate, truely a floating gated community. Still, not a shabby way to see the world.
