DVC Ohio "BUCKEYE" Thread

DVC members since....well a few weeks ago. Heading down in October, then again in December. Contemplating a trip with the Mrs. for her work conference in Anaheim, way to close to Disney to not give it a try!!!

Oh- io!!!!! Go Bucks!!!! Make MI feel blue!!!!! I am a huge buckeye fan that even went to the National Championship game in NOLA. We just moved to Collierville TN but I have connected with the Memphis Alumni group. We watch the games with them and have a turnout of about 80+ people. We own 900 points which are split between AKL and SSR.

Can I join as a former buckeye stuck in PA for the moment? My husband and I are both from Lima in NW ohio but went to Ohio State in Columbus.

It's so great to see all the DVC Ohioans! Thanks for the travel tips. 16 hour drive- really??? That isn't bad at all- we drive 12 hrs every year to the OBX so 4 more hours would be nothing to us. We have always flown but we want to do a split WDW and Vero Beach so we thought it would be best to drive down.

How do most of you go to WDW? We have been flying Southwest the last few times as they have had the best prices.

we did the WDW/VB split last summer and we're doing it again in 32 days!

We leave our house at 4pm and arrive at WDW.. through the big gates... at 7:30 am!

We take 75 down. And we don't really stop. We'll do stretch breaks/bathroom etc. but we pack food to eat so we don't really stop to eat a meal.

It can be hard driving from 2am - 5am, but DH and I take turns. I've driven 13 hours a day alone from Texas to CA before so I don't think the extra 3 is a big deal.

We like the drive overnight so that the kids sleep a majority of the time

Checking in from NE Ohio here! Wow there are quite a few of you in Columbus. My DSIL lives in Galloway! (not a member though....however, we have invited her and her family next summer) I know for a fact there are more families in NE Ohio....and 3 of us shop at the Acme on Bailey road in CF!! I have a large DVC sticker on my Jeep and there are 2 cars at Acme that also have big DVC stickers!

We live in a suburb north of Cincinnati. We bought into DVC at BLT last August on a whim while we were visiting Disney in order to "check it out" for when our kids are old enough to go
Using our points to stay at BWV with my niece in two days! Super excited. Will stay at BLT in October for Food and Wine!
I am a Michigan Spartan in my heart- but wish no ill will to any competition!!

We live in the Canton area, and are big Buckeye fans. We've owned at SSR since 2005, and our next trip is in 2 weeks.

Another Buckeye here! From rural NE Ohio. We have cows as neighbors. No high speed for us - only dial-up is available.

We fly (preferably) nonstop from Canton-Akron..... next trip is .......Thursday!! Only 2 more sleeps!

We own at VWL and SSR - Love them both. Will be staying at Kidani Village this trip for a few days, then on to SSR.

We are doing the split too this summer in July... A week at WDW they 3 at Vero... Chose to drive so we will see how it goes!

We have only flown SWA and have always been really happy with them. I have been able to book early and have usually paid about $200 per ticket.

Hey there! I'm from Lima...working downtown right now, walked around the block last week for lunch at Kewpee. We aren't owners yet, but I'm still hopeful. We're attending the D2D events next weekend at Woodfield Mall. Wahoo!

Hi! We are from Vermilion which is west of Cleveland on Lake Erie! We own at SSR and HHI and just finished a quick trip to BLT last weekend and are going to HHI in less than a month. We love being a part of DVC. We should have an Ohio DVC party!!!

I'm from Hilliard. We've been owners at SSR since 2006. We've been going down every year at this time but choise to take this year off I'm starting to plan next May and it seems so far away. Last year was the first time we flew and it was so great that we plan on flying next time. The drive wasnt bad, I looked forward to stopping in Georgia to get my pecans, but we would rather spend that extra day at disney. We have stayed at our home resort every year but I am thinking of staying at BCV or AKV next time. Any comments on either?

Ohio DVC members from Y-town area. Heading down in 4 weeks. The kids do not know. Picking them up from last day of school and flying out of Pittsburgh 3 hours later for Star Wars Weekend.

Go Bucks! My daughter and I live in Plain City and joined DVC in 2008. SSR is our home but we stayed at BCV over spring break and it was GREAT... so close to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios.

We are heading back down in July only this time driving. Will be an adventure with just the 2 of us!! Staying at VWL for the first time and then going over to Vero for a few days. We are hoping that there is not a delay at the Cape and we can see one of the last space shuttle launches.

Any other Buckeyes going to see the mouse at the end of July?
