So I got a call today from DVC regarding our guide. Apparently Steven Fisher is gone and they wanted to reassign me to someone--"who ever is available." They 3-way'd me with a new guide who began immediately trying to sell me more BLT points because of the big $130 increase on December 1st.

I couldn't believe they called me to push points. We have added on 4 times since the original and were never called about "get them now so you aren't dissapointed" speal! Is this the new business model or what the heck?

Next they'll be giving you a free trip to Vegas for two nights at a "high rate hotel" if you sit through a short/fun 2 hour timeshare sale presentation. :rotfl:

Getting a new guide when an existing guide leaves or is promoted in the norm. Getting a hard sell from the new guide at introduction, on a call initiated by them is unheard of. I would call back and ask for a new guide and tell them exactly why you didn't appreciate the cold call and hard sell of BLT to you.

ITA! Shame on your new EX-guide.............:lmao:

DVC is a timeshare...and they are getting more and more like the rest of the industry every day. Your "helpful" call doesn't surprise me at all.

Personally, my bad side would probably have taken over and I would have tied him up for an hour talking about resale. But that's just me...pirate:

I got the same call (also had Steve Fisher) earlier this week and the same hard sell. They must really trying to sell those BLT points...

I just returned from my trip yesterday and also came home to a message on my machine from someone wanting me to call them back about points at BLT on "behalf" of my guide Michelle. I'm not sure if my guide is gone or what, but I was just on the cruise and if I wanted to add on, I surely would've done it there.

DVD is making calls to anyone who looks like a potential buyer. You just happen to also get a new Guide.

I got our sales call the other night and the ASA insisted that I be transfered to a Guide. I told her that I wasn't interested. She paused for a minute or so and made some comment about the notes on our account and backed off. I guess my reputation proceeds me!

You don't have to stay with the Guide that you spoke to, just call the sales number and ask that a manager assign you the Guide of your choice.
