My 18-year old granddaughter who lives with me (and of course has ID to verify our same address) will be staying at a DVC resort and attending the Christmas party. I would like to get tickets with the DVC discount. Will they be mailed or does she have to pick them up. And the main question, since I will not be in attendance, will she be able to get them by showing her ID and my membership card.

Do I need to make her an associate member?

Associate member will not get her any member perks, just allow her to make, edit and cancel reservations. I'd call MS to see what they say. Or email them on the member website.

Ran into a similar situation last fall w/my son, who does live w/me and has the drivers license address to prove it...I bought him a DVC-discounted AP, but wasn't on the trip when he activated it...I'd cleared it all w/MS when I bought the AP--they gave me a specific number my DS had to use to get his discounted AP....but the CM (it was at Guest Services at Disney Springs) also required him to show MY drivers license (a picture of it sufficed)...he didn't have it (of course) but he called me and I took a cell phone pic of it which I emailed to his phone and the CM accepted that...hope that helps.

It seems like once we got our MVMCP tickets from Member Services, they show up on MDE as tickets that are unassigned. (Or maybe we were given the confirmation number and had to add them to MDE). Then, I had to go in to MDE and assign them to anyone in our family and friends list. At that point, the ticket is linked to the Magic Band. We did not have to show any ID.

The only time I recall having to show ID was for Annual Passes.

My memory may be fuzzy, so somebody correct me if I’m wrong.

I had a chance to ask Member Services about this yesterday, and they said I could buy them with the discount; however, my granddaughter would need my membership card and the credit card that I used to make the purchase to show at Guest Services.

Now, I am wondering if I can use a Disney Gift Card to make the purchase of the Christmas Party tickets, anyone know?

Nah - bull cookies.

MVMCP tickets are now linked to individuals thru MDE. The accreditation happens if you can sign on and buy them. These are not like discounted AP's and members are able to buy them for non-members in their group.

She will be able to enter the park thru the MVMCP ticket line with her MB and never have to stop at GS. You can send the member card along with her but unless something goes very wrong with MDE she won't even go to any ticket booth or GS. Just direct her to enter. We've done this for the past 2 years.

And yes, you can pay for them with a Disney gift card.
