DVC moving out of II into RCI?!?!??

Hi, Just read the RCI announcement too, that DVC will now trade through RCI effective 1/1/09. We have an outstanding exchange request with II into a DVC resort for last week in April 2009. We haven't had any matches yet are wondering what this means to our request.

well if you were hoping for a 2-bedroom - that is probably gone.

there were some 1-bedrooms - so call II and ask what your options are.

Easter week, even Palm week are not generally given to II. So if those weeks were what you were hoping for - would try for another week.

call now - this change will get lots of people calling II - so do it now.

ask to be given a list of all the DVC resorts - even studios for April and see what they tell you.

Marriott are very nice - if you can't get a DVC.

RCI Possibilities

one in 3.5 million ( or the number of RCI members capable of making a request ) if and whenever "inventory" appears in RCI ....early RCI offerings will probably be DVC "rentals", until the inventory bucket fills up

it would also seem that it is more likely to be an RCI points rather than weeks interaction between DVC and RCI ( reading between the lines about the ability to get shorter than one week stays in either system )
